I ask you to read this entire post before purchasing at this Levin Store:
This past experience was so horrific that I finally decided to write a review on Levin. My wife and I have purchased many pieces of furniture from Levin through the 8 plus years we have been in Pittsburgh; mostly from the Wexford location. Even though Levin is higher priced then many other furniture stores, Levin is close and one of the fewest in the area that has some quality; besides driving to Ohio. We have dealt with one representative with many of our purchases, which has been great, but like I said, this past experience was awful. Levin sent us a certificate of $350 to use before August. We decided that we would use this certificate on our master bedroom dresser to finally have a matching set. I called the Cranberry Store before I went to make the purchase just to verify I could use the certificate and if they had the dresser still available. The store associate told me that I could use it but I would have to pay for delivery because the store special of 25% off took the dresser and mirror below $1000. Delivery is $99. I argued that the purchase was over $1000 but they did not care. Even when the store took 20%, I was $5 below the $1000 and was going to be charged the $99 delivery fee. I asked to speak to the manager but the store associate finally said that she would honor the 20% and free delivery. After a few iterations, we decided to make the purchase so I visited the store. When I arrived, a different store associate was there. He was very iterated because he was the only one there and there were a lot of customers in the store. He finally got to me and said that the store associate that I was speaking to had already printed out the paperwork so I could sign. When I was about to sign, I noticed the $350 certificate not applied. I asked why it wasn't and the store associate said that I would have to call back when the other store associate was in so she could apply it because he was "new". I left and called the Wexford location and spoke to their sales office. This is where I was told I could not apply the certificate because it was under my wife's maiden name and the purchase was made under my account. The only thing they offered was to have my wife come to the store, purchase the dresser under her account, and then apply the certificate. They were not willing what so ever to transfer the certificate to my account, even if she called in to give her permission. We have a 5 month year old and are extremely busy people, so an extra trip down to do this to us was inconvenient. I even offered to fax in the information to them but they still said no. There were several rude and frustrating phone calls from Levin from both the Wexford office and Cranberry Store during this situation when they were trying to decide what to do with us. One call even included a statement from the original store associate that I spoke to at Cranberry called me and said that her "neck was on the line for what she did for me because of the free Delivery she offered". After being exhausted with this experience, my wife went into the Cranberry Store to sign her papers. The same store associate that was there for me when I was about to sign the papers was there that evening. He was very short and rude to my wife, although this time me wife was the only one there.
In the end and after this long painful experience, I will not be purchasing another item from Levin and will be taking my business to Ashley's furniture or another local business. Levin is not customer driven and their deals are there to fool you, as they jack up their retail prices behind the scene to make you think their specials are great. Listen, this is just one opinion, but please reconsider when making a purchase at Levin....
Read moreWe ordered our sofa and love seat Labor Day weekend of 2020 and still do not have them. I get it, âdue to covid 19...â but my issue is less with how ridiculously long itâs taking and more about the fact that our salesman Nick has sent 0 communications since the day we left the showroom other than to let me know the fabrics we chose for the throw pillows was unavailable. After given an initial 10-12 week delivery timeline, I waited three months to call customer service for an update. The woman on the phone nervously informed me that our delivery date was pushed to the end of April.
Here we are, April 30th still laying on the horribly uncomfortable sectional that we purchased 5 years ago from Levinâs. Not only have we been completed neglected or informed by Nick, but he also chose not to respond to our email sent about a month back. All this to be said, maybe I should be blaming myself. It was a red flag the day we purchased the sofas when I asked them to price match the set that we chose with the same set my friend purchased. We paid $300 more than hers and they refused to match the free delivery she was given. I should have walked away that day, but honestly we were so tired of couch shopping and I absolutely loved the sofas.
Lesson learned, there are hundreds of furniture stores in the Pittsburgh area, and Levinâs Cranberry does not deserve the business.
**update- itâs August 3rd and we still donât have it! Our July 31st delivery date...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews but have decided to make an exception due to the absolutely stellar service the manager- Tom Grom- provided my significant other and I. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! He may be a salesperson but approaches you as a human being first and foremost; you can tell he genuinely cares about getting the mattress that's right for you, not just the one that'll net the most profit. My boyfriend and I had been to other mattress stores before this one and were ultimately turned off by how other salespeople led you to the comfiest, most expensive mattress first + used fear mongering to make sales (i.e. "did you know lack of good quality sleep can lead to cancer", etc) - but not Tom. He asks you your budget, what brought you there, etc. Keeping that in mind, I have fibromyalgia and significant joint pain- Tom was the only salesperson I met who showed interest, empathy, and went into depth about what might be best mattress for me based on that. He is no stranger to pain issues and will absolutely go above and beyond to get you the best mattress for what you need within your budget. I can't sing his praises enough. So if you're in the market for a new mattress- GO TO LEVIN MATTRESS AND ASK FOR TOM! You won't...
