I have had a few good experiences at Saga Cranberry. My husband and I get lunch there close to once a week - and often have dinner there.
Today - was incredibly frustrating. We ordered 3 lunch maki roll meals - which includes 2 rolls, soup and salad - our total with tip was $34.62. When we got it home - there was no soup, no salad, and our receipt said $42.40.
Concerned about the total and missing items - i called saga. A man answered (did not provide his name) and i explained the situation. I was "rest assured that order was correct". Which it wasn't - a salmon/avocado roll is not spicy and we were missing soup and salad. I was told to come pick it up - which i could not. If at ANY point he would have said "I'm so sorry - we missed putting the soup and salad in the bag" I would have moved on. But he didn't. He continued to argue and scold me.
When i brought up the issue of the receipt - he told me he had to ring it in differently. Ok - no problem - but Why not tell the customer when picking up the order - sorry the receipt is wrong we had to ring it in differently (which is my guess as to why the soup/salad wasn't included).
At no point was there any sort of apology for screwing up the order. I had the phone on speaker phone so my husband could hear the person on the phone berating me. Sadly - Saga has lost our business - if you have an employee who speaks/degrades/belittes customers that way - it's not a place that should have...
Read moreBeen here twice, mixed experiences. First time was for a hibachi dinner with the family — chef was entertaining, food was delicious, boba was OK, the tapioca pearls weren’t great. The salmon and steak were both wonderful, and all of the hibachi “works” were delicious as well. The clear broth soup that they serve as an appetizer is addicting. Second time came for standard lunch on a weekend with my husband. I ordered the tempura udon, he ordered the chicken katsu. My tempura came out with the vegetables lukewarm at best and shrimp cool. Our waitress was super nice and replaced the shrimp with fresh tempura that was hot (I didn’t ask to replace the vegetables because they were alright). The udon soup that came with it, however, was just not good. The broth was flavorless, not even salty, which is not at all what I’m used to with tempura udon soups, which usually have a great broth that you can dip the tempura in. My husband’s katsu chicken was just OK. It came out on a big plate that was… just chicken. With a few orange slices. Not very well presented, and none of the typical pickled vegetables or cabbage, etc, that usually accompanies katsu. The batter was very tough and crunchy instead of light and crispy. Overall our lunch was disappointing.
If you come here I would probably recommend sticking to the hibachi, which is...
Read moreSaga is usually our go to sushi restaurant. Everything is always so flavorful. Our last experience was the worst we have ever experienced. We sat with other people we didnt know which didnt bother us at all but when the cook served our food we all knew something was off. The vegetables tasted so bitter that it was like there was a chemical on them. We all complained to the waiter. They took our veggies back to the kichen and brought us other cooked ones back. At the point no one wanted them. No only were they bad but they contaminated the other food underneath and nothing was edible. They offered to bring us new food from the kitchen and those who agreed asked to take it home. We couldnt eat anything after that because the bad taste was left in our mouth. We thought we would get the food taken off of our bill but they decided to only give us 10% pff which is ridiculous with what happened. Our family and another family asked for at least 50% off and then ultimately gave it to us. But it was just a bad experience overall and I dont think we will ever go back after that. We also asked for no eggs in our rice since we are not eating certain things because of lent and they said they cant do that, even though they did that before. Just...
