If you've never been to DAISO, imagine a Japanese version of a dollar storeābut better. It's a popular household goods store that started in Japan and has now spread to many other countries, including the U.S. The store is known for selling a huge variety of everyday items at affordable prices, often starting at just $1.50 (though some items cost a little more).
The purpose of DAISO is to make life easier by offering practical, creative, and often uniquely Japanese items that help with cooking, cleaning, organizing, crafting, and moreāall while being super budget-friendly.
When you walk into a DAISO, youāll find hundreds of useful, quirky, and fun products across many categories, including: ⢠Kitchen tools (spatulas, bento boxes, chopsticks, cute dishware) ⢠Home organization (storage bins, drawer dividers, baskets) ⢠Cleaning supplies (sponges, scrubbers, brushes) ⢠Stationery (notebooks, pens, stickers, planners) ⢠Beauty and self-care (face masks, hair accessories, grooming tools) ⢠Snacks and drinks (Japanese candies, rice crackers, instant noodles) ⢠DIY and craft supplies (origami paper, paint, fabric) ⢠Seasonal decor (holiday items, mini lights, themed accessories)
Whether you're looking for something practical or just want to browse cool Japanese goods, DAISO is fun to explore and surprisingly useful. It's easy to walk in for one thing and come out with a basket full of items you didn't know you neededābut now canāt live without. Definitely worth checking out.
We went after a few weeks after the opening. Most items look like they were in stock. Didn't have any issues with employees or navigating the store. Would recommend if you're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām incredibly disappointed by the complete lack of professionalism and courtesy I experienced this evening. I had checked the store hours beforehand and saw that it was listed as open until 9 PM. Apparently, on Sundays, it closes at 8 PM. Thatās completely understandable ā hours can vary, and thatās not the issue. What is unacceptable is the way the situation was handled by the staff.
We walked into the store shortly after 8 PM, unaware that it was already closed. No one greeted us. No one mentioned that the store had closed or kindly informed us that they were no longer taking customers. We spent a few minutes browsing, genuinely thinking we still had time. After about three minutes, instead of approaching us with professionalism or courtesy, the employee finally spoke ā not to politely inform us the store was closed, but to sharply say, āIf you could check out, weāre closed,ā in a noticeably rude and dismissive tone.
There was no apology. No effort to kindly explain the situation. Just an unprofessional and unwelcoming attitude. If we had been told when we walked in that the store was closed, we would have immediately left without issue. But to let us browse, then speak to us with such attitude, is simply unacceptable.
Customer service is about respect and communication ā neither of which were shown here. If this is how this store chooses to treat its patrons, itās deeply disappointing and reflects poorly on the brand as a whole. I hope management addresses this, because this experience was completely avoidable and left a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur first time here, tuesday, August 5th, 2025. Obviously it was super dead, very few employees working, we did a self checkout, but fyi, you can't do self checkout if you get one of the items on sale . There are signs up for these items, and it says no self checkout. So be aware of that!
Also, the aisles are very wide/flat, great for people with a rolinator, A walker, or a wheelchair. But! The front doors do not have the push button for accessibility. Please note, in my 50 pictures I have shared, there are NO returns/exchanges. A lot of these items I would have seen on Temu, I'm a regular Shopper online there, but this was really great to see everything up close and personal, I could touch everything, I could read the packaging , which has one line of English and the rest is Japanese I believe. And oh my goodness, it is like one huge store down in that they offer everything! Craft supplies, Pentel pens, every kind of crafting supply, things for your car, fishing, things for the laundry, a lot of different snacks and Foods, Pillows, cute organizational bins which I love! They even had a foldable ashtray! (Dark brick color, see my pictures.). I actually saw something there today, that I purchased at the thrift store yesterday, and that made me laugh! It was this clear organizer for like books, in case you don't have bookends. At the store, it was $6, but I am mainly a thrift store Shopper so I got it for $1.99. I'll definitely be back here, but I probably will utilize dollar tree, or the thrift store much more. It's definitely a place...
