This place has gone downhill since the new owners took over. I hadn't had my nails done in a few years because I had 2 babies back to back in less than 2 years so getting my nails done was the last thing on my mind. When I finally decided it was time for some self care I called to make an appointment with Mary who I now know as "Mary #1" and it seemed as though the lady who answered the phone was purposely trying to confuse me in what I believe was an attempt to set me up with her (the owner's sister) who also conveniently goes by the name Mary. It was incredibly frustrating so l contacted Mary directly to make an appointment. I called again recently to make an appointment with Mary #1 and again the lady on the phone was trying to confuse me. In case you're wondering why I didn't call Mary #1 directly, prior to taking a break from getting my nails done I've been getting my nails done by Mary #1 since I was in my early 20s. I'm 42 now, so out of habit I called the salon because I've always called the salon first. Mary #1 almost always answers the phone and if she didn't whoever answered never had a problem making me an appointment with her. I called Mary #1 directly and low and behold after 25 years of working here she left. I followed Mary to Hollywood Nails on Bascom in San Jose. Mary #1 does really good work. 5 stars for her. Her gel nails last a long time and still look good. Mary works on my daughter and she is always happy. I on the other hand have definitely not been. I have seen Thuy and her brother. My gel manicure the prior 2 times I came started coming off in 2 days and my nails were destroyed. Gel normally lasted a long time on me before coming here and my nails have always been good previously. My pedicure this time was also with Thuy. Didn't notice until she was already sitting down. The polish color was too dark, but I didnt get to tell her because she was too busy trying to get the polish off the rest of my toe, and I still have polish on my toes, not just nails. Couldn't get her to go shorter on 2 nails even though I asked. Also my feet don't feel great today; the scraping was too rough and she barely put any water in the tub for my feet to soak in. I wouldn't come back if my daughter wasn't so happy with Mary. But definitely not again with Thuy. Oh and as I was trying to pay one of the gals practically swept into my freshly done, but not yet dry pedicure! Would have if I didn't say something and move...

I’ve been looking for a new local nail salon and saw a grand opening sign for De Anza Nails offering 20% off through Aug 5. From the moment I walked in, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They immediately made me feel comfortable and I had an enjoyable time throughout my visit.

The services provided were of excellent value, and I was impressed with the level of care and attention to detail given during my nail treatment.

They had so many colors to choose from! I picked a Barbie pink in honor of the new movie coming out. But they have all the options for work nails, wedding nails, going out nails, etc.
