It was around 8:40pm. We went get ice cream cones. We ended up getting 2 ice cream cones, a kid's grilled cheese meal and onion rings. First, not being familiar with digital order menu, could not find ice cream cones. So after trying twice, we gave up and went to cashier to order. Tables were dirty. We went to 4 different tables and all were dirty. Not wiped off. Got some napkins and wiped the least dirty table that we actually sat at. We were called up to get cones. The ice cream was on softer side. The cone was like a small blob on the cone not spiral and pointy. I used to work with soft serve ice cream and it had no presentation value at all. It did not look like an ice cream cone should. Then when we got to the cone... it was so STALE. No crunch... tasted "aired" as if the cone had sat on counter for a while not covered. I told a blond lady worker who wore a red button up blouse... not the typical Habit tshirt. She looked at me, as if I was crazy. She did not offer to replace the cone. She looked at me as if she a deer in headlights. I suggested that maybe she should change them out and again... she just looked at me. Maybe if she wasn't looking at her phone so much, then she can do what needed to be done. Then we got called up to get the kid's meal and onion rings. Fries were luke warm. Onion rings lukewarm and not crispy or crunchy. Grilled cheese was warmer. So overall, we spent $16 for melty ice cream in an aired, stale tasting cone, cold fries and old, soft onion rings. Needless to say, this Habit location needs some looking into. Very disappointing, as we love the Habit... not so much...
Read moreHabit Burger: Make it a Family Night & Healthier Habit when it comes to fast & casual dining. My family loves to take our multi-generation group to this Habit Burger. We used to go to the one on El Camino (Sunnyvale) but ever since this new location in Cupertino opened on Steven’s Creek we have been dining at this location more frequently. Not only is this location newer and clean, the indoor seating is more spacious and has more booths to sit in (ideal for my Grandpa) especially when we need the AC for very hot days and the heater for the colder nights. My favorite to order is the Santa Barbara Salad (for the hotter weather) with no cheese and dressing on the side. I have a severe dairy allergy and the restaurant is always very careful about accommodating it. They even put an allergy tag on the item that contains the allergy dish. I also like the Santa Barbara burger (it has avocado yum) and they make it for me on the Sourdough with no butter, no mayo, and no cheese. I have even had a few cashiers inform me when we were ordering that they could do this for me (they are knowledgeable about food allergy specifics and preparation), pleasant about the food allergy specifics, and genuinely helpful. My family loves the Santa Barbara burger. Sometimes they will switch it up with a regular burger or Cesar Salad. We usually get the Sweet Potato fries on the side (not too mushy or crispy, just right) and onion rings for my Grandpa. Highly recommend for families or groups of people that have a dairy sensitive or dairy allergy in the group, just make sure you inform your cashier of the allergy...
Read moreThe kiosk order screens are not any more fun than self checkout at the grocery store and depersonalize the experience. They were also slower than ordering from staff the regular way as we found out. Food was tasty but greasy. No free tables and the store was dirty. Staff not well trained. Edit after owner's response: If I complain about wasting time on a order kiosk - exactly why would want to follow a link and create a ticket? I'm just not going to your 'restaurant' anymore. But if you are serious about using feedback, then here's a few more details. When you order on the kiosk you have to use a phone, why? Are you going to spam me later and or sell my number to someone? There's nothing on the kiosk about it. You never used the number to let me know my order was ready for example so it was worthless. Order a drink on the kiosk? It says your cup will be at the counter, which it wasn't. We had to ask someone to help us and they were confused. They also didn't act professionally - hence the poorly trained comment. We noted that people who ordered via the counter register got their food faster than through the kiosk. Take out the kiosks. Train your staff. You need to have someone clean during the day - it's filthy...
