This parking garage can be used by the public to visit AT&T discovery center or anything in that area and it can be free if you buy something at Exchange Hall ( food court) but things are a bit tricky so I would like to make this detailed post to the benefit of other visitors. First thing when you pull to the garage, it says AT&T Parking only so at first sight it may feel like employee parking. Actually its employee parking which they let others use on weekdays post 4pm and weekends all day. Second thing, when I was there on Saturday, on the leftmost entrance there was a green arrow with shutter down and the middle entrance had a red cross with shutter open which may sound confusing. So even if the shutter is down, you follow the green arrow and press the button for tickets at the kiosk and the gate will open. Now , the third important thing is you do not leave the ticket on the dashboard but carry it as you need it while entering back the building. Now if you want to make your parking free, make sure you go to one of the food place in Exchange Hall ( discovery center. ) Even if you do not want to spend lots of money, buying water or drinks is fine. Now the next trick is the shop where you buy the stuff does not validate your parking ticket but only staff at the bar can do that. So you come there to the bar in front and they will happily do it. Feel free to make use of the restroom while you are there. Now for getting back to the car, there is a separate entrance just past Lenny’s sub. There will be a board of 7 At&T employee parking only. Next to that there will be a glass door which will be locked but on your left side there will be a machine where you need to scan your ticket which will open up the gate. (if you missed your ticket or left the ticket in the car, you may press the button for assistance and someone will be able to open the gate remotely. ) Now as soon as you enter the gate, you will be greeted with a few kiosks which say pay your parking here. If you have already got it validated then no need for anything. Even if you scan your ticket, it will say your parking is paid. Now you take the elevator and go back to the level where you parked. Another tricky thing is I parked at the end of level 3 near the stairwell. But when you come through the elevator and stop at level 3, you may not be able to find the spot, the trick is you have to go half-way.. And there is some connectivity between the up ramp and down ramp and you go to the other side to reach the right spot. ( Thanks to my daughter for helping us find the car.). At the end , remember when you are exiting the parking lot, though there is no indication that you are coming out on a one-way street, it's a one way street and you must turn left only. Thought to share all the details based on our experience so it may help others. Happy Exploring Dallas Downtown!!!
(also the other review posted here by Pratik is for 1500 Jackson street.. not for 1212 and that might be the reason of confusion.) ensure you parking at 1212 Jackson street if you trying to get free parking with...
Read moreFirstly the assistance person sitting on the other side is really rude. The machine at exit was charging me an amount even after I got my parking ticket validated at the exchange in AT&T district. I asked for assistance and the already irritated lady straight away told me its not free you have to pay it is just reduces prices. I was explaining her that the security personnel told me otherwise and the website also mentions that it is a free parking after you get it validated, but instead of listening she hung up the call and my ticket was ejected out. I called for assistance again but no answer then. had to pay the full amount, the rates showing were not even discounted rates. So either the website is lying and the security personnel is lying, or you guys have some really bad misinformed staff hired. Please take care of this because it completely destroys the image of the place, and I will make sure never to use this parking facility again and suggest the same to others as well.
