I went to this store for the first time today to purchase a gift card for a friend. After completing the transaction, they told me it would be a digital transaction, and sent me a text with the receipt. However, the receipt had no barcode/QR to scan that kept track of purchases or the remaining balance. When I asked how I would give it as a gift she told me to print out the digital receipt and that “they would keep track of the transactions in their journal” and proceeded to show me a journal kept near the register. When I told them I thought it was weird that they didn’t have a more organized way to keep track of the balance or keep multiple people coming in to use the same digital receipt, especially since they have multiple locations, Roxy at the register told me in a condescending voice that she was “so sorry I thought their store was weird.” I left with a business card and a handwritten note for a $40 balance. Hopefully my friend can use it - doesn’t seem very legit. Wouldn’t purchase a gift card again but the store did have...

After reading through some of the other experiences that other people of color have had at the store, I can confirm that this space is not welcoming for people of color. When I walked in, I was barely acknowledged throughout the store. I took note of how white customers were treated and welcomed and the difference was shocking. At first, I thought I was just overreacting and brushed things off, but something told me to check out what other people were saying online, and I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one.

Read moreOne girl helped me after 5 minutes of aimless and hopeless walking around who was sweet but I needed serious help buying matching pieces. I was there ready to buy as my plans changed and I needed a couple new pieces for that night. The owner was there. He didn’t acknowledge me even when he saw me walk around the store 4x over trying to match a couple of shirts to a pair of pants. Yet, when other people walked in he ran around the store finding them things to try on, opened boxes of just in clothing for them. It was a bit odd to me as it was clear I was looking for help matching pieces / ready to spend. I ended up buying half of what I needed and going to another shop in west village that got me what I needed. I don’t know if I’d be back if...
