Terrible experience. I will not be buying from West Elm again. We ordered our item on 3/21. The delivery status stayed at "in transit to store" with a pick up date range of April 8th - 19th. After the 19th passed, I called the store to inquire. I was told that the product had been at the distribution center for quite some time but that customer pickup items were not always added to the truck because the were a lower priority than store inventory. Wow. It was suggested that I should have had it delivered to my home which would have been great except for the fact that the delivery charge would have been $150! The store had to communicate with the distribution center to ensure that my product would be added to the next store delivery. When we went to the store to pick up our product, the front desk associate contacted the folks in the storage area to tell them that we were there. We waited around for 10-15 minutes ignored until I finally asked where our product was. The associate then told us that we needed to pull our car around back. Perhaps if she wasn't so busy on her phone she would have cared enough to check on the status instead of having us waste our time. Read moreI posted the review below while very worked up and stressed out over the missing piece. At the time Warren was not working and not able to help so I should not have called him out. After another issue today which involved me spending 6 hours in the car I still did not receive my table. I called the store and Warren was very gracious and apologetic. He is trouble shooting and making his best efforts to help. Although I am still disappointed it was unfair to put it all on Warren. Fingers crossed I get my table soon!
Asst manager Warren blatantly lied to me. My biggest concern was the amount of negative reviews about receiving all items and delivery delays. He assured me and said this location has it under control. Ordered over a dozen pieces 2/25. Pieces came in slowly but all did come in a month ago and I’ve been charged for all earliest delivery 6/10 still ok until day before told can’t locate table. After arguing they locate table but can’t/won’t put on truck. So I have to reschedule my life to make another trip for additional delivery. How is this even efficient to them. Extremely disappointed. Read moreWent to west elm today with an intention to buy a chandelier. We asked an older lady at the store to check if the one we liked was in stock. She proceeded to the computer station to look it up. After 10 mins she came back to us with a simple “no”. She didn’t even attempt to offer us ship to home/store option. When I asked her about shipping options, she didn’t have an answer and went back to the computer. She then confirmed that the chandelier is in stock at a warehouse and can be shipped out. I then asked about estimated delivery times, she didn’t know the answer again, she went back to the computer to look it up. I then asked about shipping charges. She had to ask someone about that too. Overall, this person was absolutely unhelpful, she didn’t even try to make a sale with us. It was possible it was her first day at work, and she could’ve just mentioned this to us.
