Jerry's Artarama Retail Stores - Deerfield Beach — Local services in Deerfield Beach

Since we moved to South Florida we have been thrilled to try to support this store. We came every other week during Covid to try to help them stay afloat. While the service was always... interesting... the stock and fun of shopping IN PERSON was always great! Today I'd like to know what is happening? I completely understand keeping the lights lowered during the summer for expense related reasons but there were so few lights on that once you stepped away from the main aisle it was really hard to see... the paper section was so dark we didn't even go into it and while trying to find a pencil we had to turn on our own flashlights. It's SO easy anymore to order online. We try VERY hard to support our local stores...but our local stores need to work with us too. I said numerous times that it was so dark it was to hard to see the product and the poor cashier just shrugged his shoulders. We bought two small items(a drop in the bucket to our usual trips) and couldn't get out of the store fast enough(that's rare too...typically we are in an hour or so). Honestly....the new Blick's in Ft Lauderdale is bright, clean, well stocked and the staff is ready to answer any questions and very informed. I see this Jerry's losing customers and that is a sad thing!

UPDATE. ... As you can see the owner reached out. I sincerely appreciate that. It breaks my heart to see people shop only online. We are the first and loudest to say, "SHOP LOCAL or you won't have any local...

Last week I went to the Jeremy artrama in Deerfield beach, FL I spend basically half of my paycheck in supplies. One of the products I bought was liquitex. I bought 4 thin markers, and 7 jumbos. When I got home I realized that one of the jumbo markers was already used. I came today to the store for an exchange. At first, it was not an issue until the manager came up to do the exchange. I did not appreciate the way he approach the situation , and blamed me that I used it, and came to get a new one because apparently that’s what people do!! He said to me I will make an ‘exception’ this time! Now if I was the type of customer who would do such a thing. Wouldn’t it be reasonable for me to come to the store not just for one, but more than one marker to be exchange for new ones!?

The store, and all the people in it, are absolutely AMAZING. Brett, specifically, had helped me immensely over this past week. I've been showing up almost every day for more art stuff that I need, as I am just getting into painting.

They are so incredible there that they even let me take in my paint pallet and they removed the stickers from the surface for me, with what they sell, at no charge. I ended up buying what they used on it, because it was a magic product.

If I want anything art related, I go to the Jerry’s store in Deerfield Beach, where the employees are wonderful, knowledgeable, and just fantastic people.
