I had a Grand Slam breakfast here today and it was beyond disappointing. UGH!!! Pancakes were tasteless (I don't have Covid) and would crumble; you couldn't bring a piece to your mouth because it would fall into pieces while on the fork. Sausage links tasted so horrible that I had to force it down in order to avoid spitting it on the plate, which would have been gross and would likely make me stop eating from that plate immediately. Two strips of bacon, one semi raw, the other crispy and very, very thin. Transparent thin! One small slice of processed ham cut in half: chopped then compressed meat Coffee, would you believe was the only thing almost good, but the brew has serious deficiencies. Hash brown were under cooked, white, and they were processed, as if they had been boiled, mashed then squeezed through a filter to shape. Service was minimal: quick and without grace. Then comes the bill: $16.24 I have been a patron of I-hop since before they had buckwheat pancakes, and that is a long time ago. I know inflation and the pandemic have had their disastrous impact on the restaurant business but please, if you charge a high price for the food, serve good food!
I left more than half on the plate.
Dec10, 2024 Two years later I had forgotten my previous experience or that I had written a review and patronized this IHop again. Today's went something like this: My wife and I were seated promptly and served graciously by Christine. I had a plate with two pancakes, two eggs and two strips of bacon. It was good until I raised the top pancake to make sure I poured enough syrup into the bottom one. It showed clearly what must have been a child's bite along the edge. Then the second sunny side up egg looked like it had been reheated for it had the consistency of a piece of cardboard.
I silently chewed and continued eating everything until the end because I know how ugly I get when I loose my temper and situations like these I do not handle with my usual charm. I did not want to spoil the moment for my wife, a first time patron.
Christine, our server, couldn't have been nicer. Even asked if my eggs looked right to me when she served my plate. Hmm... I wanted to raise my concerns with her on the way out as I paid my bill but she ran off to take care of incoming patrons.
If this review allowed for a minus star that would be my rating. Stay away from this place at all costs, but if you must visit here look under the...
Read moreTo Whom It May Concern,
As a member of the community and a frequent patron of local businesses, I feel it is important to bring to light some concerns regarding the IHOP establishment located at 4745 W Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33445
Over the course of several visits, there have been repeated instances of inconsistent service, which have raised questions about the professionalism and conduct of this particular IHOP. Regrettably, the quality of service appears to fluctuate, creating an unpredictable and at times uncomfortable dining experience. This inconsistency not only affects the experience of patrons but also reflects poorly on the reputation IHOP has worked hard to establish nationally.
Moreover, there have been instances where the conduct of the staff seemed unprofessional and, in some cases, outright dismissive of customer concerns. Observations of management interactions and staff coordination give the impression that service standards may not be prioritized as they should be. These occurrences, coupled with reported instances of potentially shady practices, have led to a sense of distrust among some patrons.
It is my hope that this feedback will serve as an opportunity for IHOP to address these issues, implement stricter quality control, and ensure that staff training aligns with the values IHOP is known for. I, along with other concerned community members, look forward to a positive change that will restore confidence in this establishment and reinforce IHOP’s commitment to high-quality, family-friendly service.
Thank you for taking the time to consider these observations. I trust that you will look into these matters and take the necessary steps to bring this location up to the standards IHOP is known...
Read moreI don’t know what was worse the service or the food; and giving this place 1 star is too nice of rating after the garbage experience I had here. The $2 tip I gave our server, Adeline, was far more than she deserved.
She had an attitude the whole time and was rude as hell. When she greeted us she looked me and my daughter up and down before rolling her eyes. When my daughter changed her mind from soda to coffee, before she even left the table, you’d think someone cussed her out and slapped her because of the nasty look she gave my daughter. When we walked in 2:15 everyone already seated had their food or were waiting for their checks. I saw our food on the counter at 2:43 and we didn’t get it till 2:50. By then it was ice cold. The food had to have been there longer than 7 minutes to have been that cold. Yes I understand people had come in, and our server was seating them and greeted an additional table or two. But she was also making a personal call, chitchatting regular at the counter, laughing with other co-workers in the kitchen and those that passed by. She also passed the kitchen twice seeing our food each time and chose not to bring it to us until it was cold. And on top of that they made my daughter’s food wrong; when my daughter politely pointed it out, she clicked her tongue and stomped off like an annoyed teenager. They just scrapped the gravy off her chicken biscuit and threw onto the grill and brought it out to her...
