Dunham's Sports — Local services in Delta Charter Township

Step son and his father are getting into hockey. We all thought rather than going to Pure Hockey we would support local shops. This location is a 3 minute drive.

Issue: Unable to test the hockey stick in how it handles in store. We were on the second stick 70.00; first one 90.00 Skates: 69.00 We thought why not.

Male employee asked to not do that.

Concern: how is a person to know which entry to mid level twig to get if you don’t try it

I have shopped at stores where we wore shoes for an hour without any complaint to see how we like it

I’ve worked retail and sales. Rather than telling a potential customer looking at items what not to do. Make a sale!

“Hey Mr customer, I see you are trying out these hockey sticks. While we understand the necessity to try out things. We ask that xyz for xyz reasons; perhaps I can help you with your purchase decisions today. Here is someone who has knowledge”

I would have gladly spent 300.00 today had it gone more in a customer service sales. Rather than just being told “don’t do that”

I was seeing how the sticks felt with dangles; and light passes front and back. I wasn’t trying to test the flex; that needs to be saved for the ice or after tape and wax. No wrist shooting or slap shots; nothing potentially that could break the Bauer or CCM

My suggestion is not to reprimand the employee(s)

Teach them sales!

Damn associate I believe would not stop talking to another associate went to look at guns. I stood at counter for 10 mins listening to dudes conversation with a girl and he could see over the shelf I was looking but dint once think to ask if I needed help or anything. Then after his conversation he walked over to another area close to the gun display.

My girl walked around and looked and the guy ignored her too dint even ask if she needed help or anything.

First time going in this one.

They all seem be the same no help in gun area of store so you gotta walk all the way up front and ask a cashier or whoever works there to help in gun department.

I was in our Lansing Mall location this morning around 11am to purchase wrestling shoes. When I got up to the cashier right from the start she was very rude. I said " hi how are you today " no response. She stood there scowling at me the whole time. My 22 year old daughter was with me to witnesses this. With the service I recieved I should of put them back and went elsewhere but i kept my politeness and even told her " thank you , have a nice day " still with no response just a dirty look.
