JCPenney — Local services in Delta Charter Township

Service Representatives are very well trained.

My dad died yesterday.

My 87 year old mother wants him to be buried in a suit and a blue tie with a small pattern. I found a suit but could not find a blue tie in my parent's house.

I went to Penney's because that is where Dad bought suits. He always appreciated the high quality and competitive prices. I bought three ties that matched my mother's description and let her choose the one she wanted.

Then, six hours after I bought the ties, I brought the other two back to the JC Penney's where I bought them.

I expected a hassle because I had removed the bar-codes and hanger from the ties so my mother could see how they looked against the dress shirt we found for dad.

I also expected a hassle because there were seven other customers lined up to purchase items.

The service representative, named Carly, was both professional and kind. She asked if there was anything wrong with the ties because she did not want to restock product if it was not perfect.

I am grateful that Carly simply took care of business and...

So! I don't enjoy shopping for myself over much at JCP'S, because their plus size women's section always wants to make you dress like you're 80. I'm fat, not old. They have cute toddler clothes sometimes, and the occasional fantastic sale on them. Paying second hand price for first hand clothes is nice. But! The reason I am leaving this review is none of that. It is for their photo lab. Those guys were great! We went in for a very special set of photos and the ladies there, despite being overwhelmingly busy with their 15 minute seating times and loud, emotional clientele (a whole lot of toddlers getting their xmas photos yesterday) were absolutely phenomenal. They worked so well with my daughter and with us, making us feel comfortable and making the experience enjoyable. They got gorgeous pictures of us all. I really cannot compliment them enough. We have been to private photo companies that did not have as much creativity and ability to work with kids, and were much more expensive besides. I used to love going to this store, today however was not a great experience. The clothing selection for men's was very slim, but we were able to find some active gear to purchase. As we were getting ready to check out one of the sales associates very rudely told us the line was on the other side of the counter. So we complied and moved to the other side of the counter where nobody else was in line and waited for the same rude associate to finish her personal conversation after she ended her conversation she thought it was time to finally assist us, the only customers she had in the line. She never offered to explain the 30, 40, or 50 percent off instead she rudely explained that our purchases did not qualify other than one pajama bottom we purchased, and then she proceeded to ring us up without the coupon. My sister in law gladly went to another associate to do her check out....so very disappointed with this visit and the customer service...
