Ordered through their online service for take out. The wait wasn't bad at 25 min but I live less than 10 min away and my food was not hot by the time I got home more like lukewarm which makes me think it was done sooner than stated and it sat waiting on me.
It doesn't seem like they read the special instructions. My dish was OK in flavor but was not spicy at all and I asked for "extremely hot". I also asked for chili oil in case they didn't make it spicy enough as most places won't. What I was given was a paste that frankly smelled rotten, I did not taste it.
For a side I ordered fried dumplings and again the special instructions said "extra crispy" the dumplings were soggy and just barely crisped on one side. They were however larger than average and the filling was good.
These were just my dishes, we ordered for 5 people my kids will eat anything but even one of them said it was not hot and pretty soggy(General Tso's), and that their rice was cold.
We really like the Ming Dynasty on the south east side. Even though it is on the opposite side of town the food is always hot by the time we get it home and all the fried dishes still have a crispy crunch even when covered in sauce (General Tso's). Sadly they were closed so we tried this place out based on the reviews and are a bit...
Read moreFortune house just opened for the day when we arrived, no other guests were there yet, so I had a chance to ask alot of questions about Chinese food. The lady who helped me with my order was very knowledgeable. The way she explained the food, it started to really make me hungry. The quality of the ingredients and all the time-consuming preparation and care that goes into getting all the details right was alot. Our group went inside to order take-out, after the order was taken 12 minutes went by and here came a mountain of food, it was a little shocking to be honest how much food we were brought for 37 dollars. It tasted incredible, a really nice flavorful meal. Best Chinese i had been served in a long time. The Fortune House was a pleasant surprise. The environment was quiet and clean. Small dining area, order your food at the register style, short wait, and delicious food, a happy time was...
Read moreThis place sucks at making food. Which for a Chinese place is like all you got bc no one is going here for the atmosphere. 4 meals all different, all individually the worst Chinese food any of us have had. Orange chicken, sesame beef, sesame shrimp, general chicken. All over cooked till almost black and crumbles it's so crunchy. Fried rice was I think just dyed grey, no egg or veggies and it was an upcharge. Shrimp was no longer shrimp, I can't explain it but it wasn't shrimp or really anything. I hope they were on drugs when they made out meal bc I would feel better about it. Not being picky, I'm a construction worker. I eat bad food for lunch and we didn't eat more than a...
