I went in for my very first lash experience and received a CORNEAL INJURY. Then I had the most unexpected and unprofessional management response. My experience with every other staff member, including my lashtec was very positive. On 06/14/18 I had what was a very pleasant experience with a trainee. (I thought I was there to support a friend, turned out to be someone else, I rolled with it) Went home, suddenly the white of my eyeball is swelling. I called and was promptly referred to a doctor and provided product ingredient information. It was a corneal scraping. Due to a readjusted gel eye pad. I had to flush my eye and ice it for a good 20+ hours to bring down the swelling. I left it for a full two days before contacting Amazing Lash Studio. In the meantime my right eye lost a cluster of lashes from the outer corner. When I called I first informed the receptionist of my situation and she informed me she is the manager and would be handling the situation. So I explained first I would like to notify the trainee of my injury so they could be aware of an injury they caused and could carry that experience with them moving forward. I understand it’s a learning environment. When I asked about my right eye EVERYTHING about the managements tone/choice of words changed. She began to talk over me, and then had to end the conversation because clients were arriving. She called me back and began a rather confrontational and accusatory conversation. I reminded her of why I initially called (to inform the trainee)and that along with feeling physical pain from my eye injury I was now left looking ridiculously asymmetrical. She said she absolutely couldn’t make an exception for my unfortunate situation and that she might be able to help me either Monday or Tuesday. She kept asking me questions via reduction ad absurdum to make it seem like I was being crazy. “I don’t understand. I don’t get it. If you had a bad experience why would you want to come in? Wouldn’t you be scared of coming back if you had an injury? Why would you want to even touch your left eye. I just don’t understand? Why would you want to come back?” So even though I was being mocked, patronized, and condescended to, I simply repeated myself, I DID NOT want to even touch my left eye. I felt physically uncomfortable and I also feel embarrassed by my lopsided appearance. Was there anyway to just take them off without agitating my eye, NO. I told her that I was simply trying to better my first experience at this place of business. That I had anticipated having a very gracious, understanding and accommodating conversation about my negative experience. Instead I spent around 20 minutes defending my motivations as a person, to which I told, “Excuse me!? What was that? Your motivations? First of all, your corneal injury was not the first. It happens.” When I said I hope not frequently, she simply replied, “It does, it’s happened before.” Then I was told that she had the authority to refuse my service. That she was not going to give me, and that I could not find, a contact number for a regional manager or owner. Then she began to get very agitated and talk over me, I took a moment to try and refocus the conversation, and I was again spoken over and told, “How about you bring me a doctors note and then we can talk.” She hung up on me. That was the most unprofessional and poorly handled management experience/conversation I’ve ever had in the Cherry Creek area. From my understanding there is an expectation of a higher standard of service in this area. I’m so disappointed because what had been a pleasant experience turned into the worst first impression of a business ever. I had planned to take my injury in stride and give the establishment another shot. However in the words of their own manager, “Why would I want to go back to somewhere I was injured.” Or rather where I know management has a license to be rude and dismissive of current/potentially...
Read moreUpdate – 4/16 Visit I returned on 4/16 to have my lashes adjusted, and it truly made a world of difference. Alyssia was amazing—knowledgeable, kind, and took the time to walk me through proper lash care, the products being used, and her professional recommendations. I felt completely comfortable in her hands.
I also want to thank Susie and Leslie for helping to turn my experience around. They were supportive and attentive throughout the process.
Attached is a photo of the updated look. Thanks to Alyssia, Leslie, and Susie, I would absolutely come back and now feel confident recommending this studio.
— Review 4/15 I had a very disappointing experience at Amaze Lash Studio in Cherry Creek. My appointment was with Trinity, who was unfortunately quite rude and not personable throughout the process. I explained multiple times that I wanted a full lash look and even showed several photos of how my lashes have looked in the past. The picture below was shown to Trinity at least two times before she started, to make it clear what I was expecting. I trusted her professional judgment to help achieve that look, but the end result was nothing like what I asked for—my lashes were sparse, spacey, and uneven.
When I expressed my concerns at the completion of the service, Trinity became dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of offering to fix the issue, she told me to book with another tech—for an additional cost. I made it clear that money wasn’t the issue; I just wanted to leave with lashes that made me feel confident. Instead, I was left feeling embarrassed and upset—I even cried at the front desk from the experience.
To make matters worse, I was charged full price for a service that was completely inadequate. I’ve attached a photo comparing the work done at Amaze to my previous lash tech, and the difference speaks for itself.
I can get past the rude behavior if the work is good but the combination of rudeness and in adequate skills is just unacceptable.
I came to Amaze because it’s close to home and offers a membership program, but after this experience, I seriously question the professionalism, attentiveness, and skill level of the staff. Sadly, I cannot recommend this studio to others.
** I will say Leslie at the front desk was very kind and caring and did her best to rectify...
Read moreIf I could give them zero stars, I would. I only got lash extensions here for two months, but it was enough to not make me come back.
The very first lash service I got here was very poorly done. The girl was new and when I went in for a refill with someone more experienced, she informed me she had a lot of correcting to do and some of my natural lashes had breakage. The next time I went, the lash tech told me that the front desk had lost my file (outlining what everyone had done to my lashes) so she just kinda went in and winged it.
Besides that, my big issue with them was how much they pushed me every time I went to get their membership, when I didn't want it since I only had two special events that I was specifically getting lashes for. The last straw was when the two girls at the front were inquiring as to why I couldn't get a full hour refill (when I had already had this discussion with my lash tech in the room) and a simple "it doesn't fit in my schedule" wouldn't get them to stop asking. They also kept asking me why I didn't just sign up for their membership, if I was going often for fills. I had to tell them several times that I didn't have time, that I didn't intend on getting lashes long-term, that I had practice and wedding rehearsals. I stood there for about 10 minutes just answering their questions, and the next apt I was requesting didn't even get booked.
Unprofessional, and my co-worker who referred me to them just found out that they kept charging her for a membership she had cancelled with them 4 months ago. Take your...
