I rate based on price-to-value and the good news is that Hasu is not super-expensive and the sushi is consistent.

That said, it's not great - service is good when they're not fulfilling the constant stream of take-out/pick-up orders, with one glaring exception.

If you show up during Happy Hour, which has some decent drink specials including wine, buyer beware - you MUST tell them you want wine off the Happy Hour list - if you just say, "Give me a Chardonnay," they will purposely give you the top-end Chard (at about $18/glass vs. $5 for the Happy Hour wine). They will not ask for clarification - when I got my bill (and I was eating here almost every week for a stretch) and asked, they said "That's the policy set by management." Um, ok - I asked if a manager was present and they said, "The owner comes in periodically."

Thus this review - I'd give them 3 stars but that's not great customer service to purposely give the high-end wine without...

I used to love Hasu with my entire heart. They used to serve some of the best sushi I've had since moving from southern Louisiana - a high compliment from someone who also worked in the seafood industry. Unfortunately, something has gone terribly wrong since they reopened. I ordered from them today and NONE of the sushi was safe to eat. It was all sweating, warm, and smelled off. I didn't immediately notice any smell when it came to the spicy tuna, but the moment it was in my mouth I knew it was a mistake. I opened my tuna, salmon, and eel rolls and noticed that the tuna was starting to gray and all of it was sweating. The smell was so bad my office mate asked if everything was ok (embarrassing but funny). I had to throw away my entire order. I'm so disappointed. This place used to be the go-to and now I'll never eat it again. I've never before wanted to give a place 0 zeros, but I would if I could. It's a food...

I very much enjoy Hasu Sushi. The fish is usually very good (some I don’t like, but it’s personal preference, not an indictment on quality), and the value is there. The portions are very generous compared to similar restaurants in Denver. We’ve ordered from Hasu many times, and the one thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is consistency. I’ve noticed that the variety of their sushi/sashimi combo increases dramatically on weekends. Not necessarily a bad thing, as the floor is still very high. But I find myself ordering mainly on weekends as the quality and selection is just much better. Otherwise, great food, great price, definitely...

Hasu Sushi has been my go to sushi restaurant since COVID. They serve fresh sushi and the service is incredible! They have a wide selection of rolls along with lots of nigiri options. I mean who doesn’t want high quality sushi for a affordable price? Especially in the Cherry Creek Area, this is a awesome deal! Their gyozas are amazing. My favorite roll would have to be Out Of Control, the seared salmon with spicy mayo is worth dying for. Recently, they hired new sushi chef from Sushi Den! And the fish is incredible and so fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.

We really like this place. One thing that always draws us in is that it's not overcrowded like some of the places just a block or two closer to the mall, even on a Saturday. The food is great, the service is swift, and the staff is friendly. It has a simple feel. Even though the place is in the Cherry Creek area, the prices are not too crazy. We've been here four or five times, and we'll be back.
