Spent the day thrifting in Denver for my daughter’s bday. We were excited to try out this place! Our first impression wasn’t great. A gal employee who had coming in with us after a smoking break, was super rude and unfriendly. Then, while my daughter was looking at a rack of clothing, she literally told my daughter to move out of her way twice because she was sweeping! She has the whole store to sweep, but had to sweep right there! 🙄 Both, the guy and the gal were talking to each other and totally acted like we were invisible. It was only after we purchased our first bunch of clothing that the guy spoke to us. I work in retail and again I am wondering why these people work with people when they clearly do not like people! The other thing that was weird about this store - I walked around and looked at and picked up some of the decor. Almost everything was broken, cracked, scratched or falling apart. This store is supposed to be selling the better quality stuff. Very odd. The prices weren’t that fantastic either. But, I’m sure their rent is ridiculously high! I can get better quality at the regular old Goodwill. Strange experience. Not sure...
Read moreLarge percentage of items sold here are for women which is good. I stopped by during my lunch nearby and I asked the staff about the “work boots” that my wife saw the night before. I asked the first friendly staff, but she didn’t know so she asked the second and third. The latter two seemed to be blank so they said something that I didn’t understand. Not great or helpful. I get it that a pair of “work boots” is not expected at the soft “boutique” store for an obvious reason. The third staff gave me a “high brow expression”that I was a weirdo. While I wait for them to look around, I happened to find the said boots hidden to the left and near the cash register. I grabbed them and told the 2nd staff, a cashier, “See this? This was what I was looking for.” Second and third staff said nothing so they were useless, but the third one gave me an attitude. Well, those work boots were definitely brand new and tight, but I decided to not buy it after all. Poor customer service, but then this is still Goodwill. The latter two think they work for “Neiman Goodwill” (as Neiman Marcus) or “Goodwillstrom” (as...
Read moreIf you're looking for clothes that whisper "I just finalized my divorce and bought a crystal to feel something again," Deja Blue is the place for you. Everything looks like it belonged to someone who left a PTA meeting mid-breakdown, and yet somehow it's still priced like it’s exclusive runway couture from a sad suburban mall.
Want a $28 high end brand blouse with the faint scent of despair and old Febreze? Got you covered. Dreaming of a $19 top that says “wine mom but make it edgy,” complete with a mysterious stain and a loose sequin? Baby, they’ve got racks of it.
The real kicker? You can feel the underpaid labor humming through the hangers. The vibes are off. Like, spiritually. I walked out with a $20 pair of pants and a sudden urge to unionize. There’s something haunted about this place......and I don't mean vintage.
Come for the bargains, stay for the existential crisis. Or don’t. Honestly, you’d be better off raiding your aunt’s closet and setting...
