The people who work here are often pretty cool, so why did I give it 1 star?
Because they are scammers. They have a "buy 1 get 2 free" deal on wine, which sounds great, right?
Well, the wine they're selling goes for an msrp of around $7-$8 a bottle. I opted for the buy 1 get 2 free deal and didn't realize until I looked at my receipt that they charged me $30 for ONE bottle of wine. I understand up-charging like $1 or something more than msrp of you're doing a deal like that, but doing a %325 markup is insane.
Another thing to notice is that they don't have prices on their liquor for a reason... They will fit a crazy charge like this on your bill if you're ever getting a decent amount of items because you're less likely to notice.
It's a bummer, because this was a really good neighborhood Bodega, but unfortunately, they have been pretty sketchy lately.
