Rocky's Historic Eastern Market — Local services in Detroit

Will NEVER return Not even for a favorite product that is not easily found elsewhere!!BT WE WILL FIND IT! BT 1 of the twins today was SO Rude, purposedly extremely condescending & thought it was funny, not at all the way you'd expect a business would respond to a question. I'd previously called to inquire & had to travel 60 miles! He gave the answer he "wanted" over the phone to give most likely to lure me down there HOWEVER, He Lied & the price was Dbl what he quoted! I ask why he lied @ the cost his respond we should not have given u a price! Why not due to fact theres no where else it can be purchased! What happen to 'the customers always right'? I had planned on buying 7lbs of product due to the price quoted BT after the surprising cost & mostly "HIS" ATTITUDE I only bought 2 & would have WALKED OUT IF it had not been for the orders we had for samples! His Response arrogance & sarcasm in an attempt to let me know "He Didnt Care"! I GOT the message!!!! My family has a personal historic relationship with MY all time Fav the Defunct RAFAEL'S SPICE, ROCKY'S as well with other vendors such as KAY FOODS, LKL, & CAPITOL Poultry, CARAMANGOS! My mother owned a restaurant for well over a decade & ROCKY'S & the rest were our vendors for her restaurant & our Catering Biz for almost 2 decades! The environment has TOTALLY CHANGED I noticed this 5 yrs ago BT because we will need an ongoing order we're already "on the job" in finding a supplier to meet our needs If by mail! I was NOT n anyway Rude I even apologized because I had been on the phone prior to asking for help! A Tradition...

If you plan on going to the Eastern Market, then you've got to stop in at Rocky's, especially if you love to cook! Rocky's has a huge variety of herbs and spices from all over the world and their friendly staff is there to give you a hand bagging it up! They also have a glass deli case full of all sorts of different types of dried fruits! Various types of dates, figs, and other stuff I've never even heard of fills this case and they are pretty cool about letting you try a little sample of this or that! They also have a huge bulk candy section! You can get candy of all types for a great price, so I usually get some of the harder-to-find sweets that I like! Rocky's is an awesome store! You definitely need to check it out the next time you're in the Eastern...

I have been going to Rocky’s for years and always love going there while visiting Eastern market. They have so many bulk spices and herbs and hard to find ones also. I really like that they have a person that will get them out of the bin for you so not everyone is digging into the bulk bins. It’s a first come, first serve area so just make sure the person sees that you are waiting. Zandra helped get our spices and she was so friendly and courteous. They have a good assortment of nuts and dried goods. Be careful some of the prices of nuts can be a bit high.
