Michaels — Local services in Duluth

The store was very clean and organized. The bathrooms when I got there were freshly cleaned so they look nice. The employees were fairly helpful. The only bad thing that I have to say is that the prices have gone up a lot since I've been there last. Just as an example, we were trying to buy some letters to spell our kids names out on the wall. When you're charging $5.99 a letter and your kids have long names, you're talking like $70 per kid's name. I understand that art can be somewhat prohibitive to the less fortunate individuals like myself financially, but this just seemed ridiculous. I'd say it's still a good store to go into and it's still worth the time cuz they have some unique things that not a lot of other places carry. And sadly it's just pretty much our only option and now that cars hobby is closed and Jo-Ann fabrics is gone. I would recommend it. Dulutian's, among other cities have the advantage of having a Joanne's fabric store, Hobby Lobby, and Michael's. I have been a customer of all three. The Duluth Michael's is on a different level. One could argue customer service is customer service. Not so at Michaels. Michaels although no as big and well appointed as Hobby Lobby, has well informed employees, helpfull employees, and their secret weapon. Matt. I usually find Matt in the frame department. Very unhappy with this place.6 of us went to get colorful t shirts to make our girls weekend shirts. We thought they where still on sale. All the sale signs where up,but at check out time we where told otherwise. 1 people got a discount on hers. The rest did not. 3 different check out ladys. I was the last one of 3 at the old ladys line who was very rude to me. I total her the signs are still up and there was no sales date on it so we should have sale price. She said guess I better take them down. Charged me full price and walked away from me. Needless to say I will not be back. I believe my sisters are now done shopping...
