ā¼ļøEDITā¼ļø The owners kindly invited myseld and my partner to the store on 2/25 to discuss this matter. We were more than hapoy to have a conversation about this topid as it is a very important matter. We discovered that they had already started implementing changes with said staff member (who has in the past had issues with her tone when it comes to interactions with guests) ans the staff in general. It was incredibly helpful and a relief to hear! I cannot wait to visit again soon to see the changes that they have made. Thank you to the fantastic owners for creating a wonderful environment for everyone to visit!
I visited this place on Valentineās day with my boyfriend. We are Easton residents and one of our favorite things to do is to walk around and pop into the shops every once in awhile to see whatās changed. We hadnāt been to this specific shop yet because of time. As soon as we both walked in, we immediately felt the eyes of one of the workers. She was older, short grey hair. We tried to ignore it and continue our journey through some of the coolest little vendors in the shop. I was happy to see Easton Candle there. We decided to stop and pick out a scent together and being the indecisive people we are, we took forever. Still feeling the eyes of the woman, we finally picked out candles and my partner kindly held on to them as we proceeded to the next vendor. The lady quickly followed behind us. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed that she was trying to pick our brains on what we could be looking for in the shop. She proceeded to ask for the candles in my partners hands and said she would āhold them at the front for us.ā We were disheartened. Still giving this woman the benefit of the doubt, we continued through the store. She was still lurking and following. This place is huge. 2 floors to be exact. I wanted to spend my Valentineās day supporting small businesses like i had the entire evening. After making our way through the building, we proceeded to the front to purchase the candles to which the lady then followed us. I was carrying bags from other shops before visiting this one. I placed them on the counter while paying and the older woman tried peaking into the bags. There isnāt another place like this in Easton and it was really nice to see, but the way we were treated was so so terrible. As someone who had lived here their whole life and has done so much work in the community to keep it safe from people like this, itās very disappointing. I can only hope this woman was not profiling us or at least...
