I had a great experience with Danny during my first visit, which is why I was excited to return. Unfortunately, this second visit was disorienting and didn’t meet my expectations.
I scheduled a regular manicure and pedicure online for 6:00 PM and arrived at 5:50 PM. Upon arrival, I was asked if I wanted gel or regular polish. I initially said gel for the manicure but quickly decided to stick with the regular manicure I had originally scheduled.
The pedicure was okay—callus removal was fine, and I appreciated Vy’s help in layering a darker purple underneath the sparkle polish I chose. However, the overall result was sloppy, which I’ll include pictures of. For $42, I expected more attention to detail. The massage also wasn’t relaxing; it felt more like lotion being rubbed on with very little pressure.
Vy was very nice and polite throughout the service, which I appreciated. After she finished the manicure, I asked how long I should wait before touching anything, and she told me five minutes. I waited as instructed, but when she kindly helped me put my boots on, my entire thumb nail polish came off. She had mentioned it would be dry by then, so I was surprised this happened.
Feeling bad about the situation and not wanting to hold them up, I asked what time they closed. Vy said 8:00 PM, but a gentleman there kindly corrected her, saying they closed at 7:30 PM. I felt guilty that she had to redo my nails so close to closing, even though the smudging wasn’t my fault.
Overall, Vy was lovely, but the service didn’t reflect the price I paid. Which was a total of $76 with a $15 tip.
I’m home now, and the nails still aren’t dry. It doesn’t feel like there’s enough top coat either, so I’ll apply more myself. The manicure also was filed incorrectly, so the nails are very rigid and uneven. I’m overall just disappointed in the service.
Update: Nail polish started chipping off last night. A couple hours after it was applied.
Lena & Cassie are the BEST! They are perfectionists & pay attention to every detail yet fast. They care about cleanliness & safety, the salon is beautiful! Most importantly, they are the sweetest humans ever. For example, at my appointment tonight, I chose a color with chrome & I didn’t like how it looked on me at all. I said it was totally my fault & asked to just remove it & I would come back when Lena had availability & apologized profusely! Lena insisted I get the color I want however she had another client so Cassie said she would do it. I felt so bad & they were just so kind, sweet & most accommodating. It’s rare to find customer service like that these days. If you’re looking for your nail salon … Aqua Nails is for sure it! Thank you again Lena & Cassie 🤍💅🏼
I had been going to the same nail salon for well over 10 years..their customer service and quality of service haven’t been the same. I decided to try out a salon closer to my home and I am SO glad I came across aqua nails.
The appointment process was a breeze - I called as I had questions and I called ahead as I was running behind to my appointment - they took me in quickly and promptly. Everyone was so friendly, the salon was welcoming, bright and clean. I felt like I had been coming here for years for how I was treated. Lynn did my nails and she is the absolute SWEETEST. I’ve never had a nail tech take their time and do quality work quite like Lynn. I will definitely be back and will recommend Aqua Nails to anyone!
