Disappointing. After over three years of doing ninja at Conquer Ninja, I think we are done. Unfortunately, the Champions Hall location closed abruptly last year with the plan to reopen in a new space shortly thereafter. The move ended up taking several months longer than expected, and during that time families were encouraged to drive to other locations — with Burnsville being the closest option for us, which wasn’t very convenient.
We chose to wait for the new location to open, but sadly, it hasn’t lived up to expectations. Compared to their other metro locations, the new gym feels much smaller and noticeably run down — especially surprising given it is a new build out. The extended closure combined with a facility that doesn’t match the quality they’ve demonstrated elsewhere has really dampened our son’s enthusiasm. After being so passionate about ninja, this change has him less than thrilled.
It’s been disappointing to see something he once loved lose its spark due to how this transition was handled. It seems the owner was more concerned about opening other franchise locations and lost track of their flagship location.
Just a meh. Small, dark, dingy and not a lot going on any time we've gone. Kid was super excited with the prospect of doing all the stuff she sees on the show. The excitement wore of quickly, to the point we had to fight hard to continuing going (even though I paid the exorbitant membership fees while being restricted to a few times a week). If it wasn't for a few friends going, we probably wouldn't have lasted much more than a month. It's been 4. The website sucks and the membership tier costs are not explained well. Then to make matters worse, they require you physically come into the place to cancel your membership. Seems like a crock as they are very willing to sign you up/take your money over the phone, but "unfortunately not" able to do the inverse over the phone. That's just a shady business practice. There is no logical reason to not allow cancellation over the phone. This place simply doesn't want to do it because they're relying on people to get busy and not make it in before the deadline and presto, you're charged yet another $75 for another month.
Would not recommend. My 11 year old wanted to go to an Open Gym session to see what the gym was after having gone to other ninja gym locations...the Eden Prairie location is small and cramped, a lot the mats and equipment looked old and tired out. The online open gym information said that it would be "instructor led" and when I asked was told that there would be an instructor there to help the kids use the different equipment, when we arrived there was a young teen there checking in the children and then that was it, he stood behind the counter on his phone the whole time, barely looking up. Many of the obstacles were not reachable because they hadn't set up the mats under any of them and so there was no way to reach some of them, and there was such a vast array of kids there, my son was easily the oldest one and many of the younger ones were screaming and shouting, and in such a small space it was overwhelming. We paid for an hour, but only stayed for 20 minutes before leaving.
