Horrible Delta check in desk agent with ginger hair and golden glasses on 4/17 5:30 am. Very rude and demanding. Never had this rude agent ever in my life. Normally Delta agent is not that kind and so I am used to this not welcoming atmosphere but this one is one level beyond. You can still find some of good Delta Samaritan in the world. This person at Newark airport , however, is the worst ever. As soon as I reached to the desk, she said photo ID and boarding pass to provide her without saying hello. I dont expect to hear hello back to me but this is what her attitude was from the beginning. My phone was inside my personal woman’s bag because of all the luggage I was carrying on my two hands and thus It took some time to give them to her- but less than 1 min. Her rudeness started from that moment. She said to prepare them in advance and made an awful look to me. Then she said she couldnt check in because my flight was 7am, not 6am. There was a long line in the mrng and we were waiting for a long time to drop the baggage. I already had a boarding pass on my app. but the desk agent was saying that she was not actually trying to find a way to check me in out of her temper. It was already near to 6 and there was no way she couldnt find our flight to check in because we were too early there.
Here is the story how she got that temper. Originally there was one line waiting for check in and when we got to the end of the line just before the agent desk, one of Delta employee said that they were dividing the line into the two lines. One is for 6am flight and the other is for the luggage drop off. Since we were already the next line to the desk and the other line was already, quickly being occupied by those people used to be behind us, we stayed on the original line since we didnt want to take a risk that we could be late for our boarding at 6:20. It was already 5:40 at the desk after the long waiting. As soon as she found out our flight is 7 not 6, she became more ridiculous and started showing her temper. After all, she accepted our luggage. She threw my luggage conveyor belt nervously and stared me with anger. I think this incident could be happened due to their internal communication issue. Between The agent and the delta colleague who helped people in line. The delta colleague didn’t notify people in line in advance and didnt make a line into two earlier. No matter what happened, this ginger hair lady doesnt have any right to be angry to the customer like this. I wish I took a picture of her face being so angry. I never had anyone looking me like this - showing contemptuous. She ruined my mrng completely. I wish people dont go to this Newark airport and dont ruin their feeling. This airport is normally busy and so is JFK. I still prefer JFK...
Read moreThe first time I flew with Delta and my round trip experience was a mess! I literally cried at the airport. I was traveling from Atl to Newark, my flight was 5 pm, they moved it to 7 pm, later they moved it to 9 pm, and later they canceled the flight and gave me a new ticket for tomorrow morning. At this point I don't know what to do, I paid almost $40 fare to get to the airport, I have to pay the same to go back home and pay the same to return back next morning. I went to one of their staff at the front desk and ask her if it is possible to put me in another flight because I needed to travel, she gave me another ticket for a flight that will leave at 10:55 pm, I got to the gate and they said the flight was filled omg! I broke down, I told the attendant the reason for my trip, he felt bad and asked me to wait and that was how I flew with that flight though it was moved to 11:45 pm. Returning from Newark to Atl was another mess because I felt really embarrassed inside the plane although, all the flight attendants later came and apologized to me I have never been embarrassed before inside plane like this. I was eating the chicken I had with me because I was very hungry when the whole drama started. First, they unseated me from my seat because I have the same seat number with someone else, I had to pack my chicken thinking the whole drama has ended next, they asked me to leave the flight that my name is not on their list meanwhile, I saw my name in one of the attendant's iPad when she proved to me that I was given a wrong seat. They walk me down from my seat towards the door but I refused to leave, I told the pilot that I saw my name, I checked in online, how come? The pilot said he is not going anywhere except they sort this out. Finally, my name was confirmed and they were able to dictate the wrong passenger. I swear, I couldn't eat my chicken again, the hunger just ceased. I came back from that trip and told myself this is the last time I will fly with Delta. I travel a lot, I made this trip not up to one week I came back from Houston. Worst experience since I have been traveling both local and...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! After the end of our NYC honeymoon trip we arrived at the Newark airport; checked and tipped our skycap; went through TSA; paid for a new delta sky lounge member card and sat in the skylounge at 12:45pm thinking we would only be there for a couple of mins before boarding our 2pm departure flight back to atlanta. 1st sign of trouble was the amount of fellow skylounge members saying they’ve been trying to get out of EWR for the last 24 hours. Then we were delayed until 3:30pm. Then we were canceled due to staff/software issues just over an hour before takeoff. I felt bad for the hoard of people who descended on the two very nice attendants who were trying to help us out and run a skylounge all at once. NO HELP EVER CAME FOR THEM!!! Over 90 min standing in a seemingly non moving line. We were told the earliest we could get out of EWR was Wednesday which was not a realistic option due to our work requirements. We called a separate number provided by the two fantastic attendants and after quite the wait we were given an 8am flight option 80 miles away in Phili with a connector that got us in at 3pm. When I asked about transportation, hotel accommodations, etc we were told YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. Could you please help us get to Philadelphia via rental, taxi, train? NO!!! Could you please help us with overnight accommodations? NO!!. Could you please help us reclaim our luggage? Go find a delta attendant in a Red Jacket. We then sat down and like everyone else’s scoured the net to find workable options. An 80 mile Uber to Phili $150.00. A Holiday Inn Express last minute reservation 400. 10 hours of lost wages and productive. We left the airport 6 hours after arriving without a single apology, or just a mere acknowledgment of the time wasted and the personal and professional expenses incurred. Through all of this the customer service and workable options provide by delta was HORRENDOUS. I felt bad for the two desk attendants who genuinely tried their very best; they deserved a better more supportive employer. SHAME ON...
