So I do really love RCCC, lots of variety in activities, clean, bright, great pool BUT my upset comes about bc now the young siblings of kids who are in a swim class (even when the sibling is waiting for their own swim class to start) are not allowed to even have their feet in the water anymore (as of today apparently). During all of last weeks classes (which are now on their second week) it was fine for them to be at the zero-entry part and up to just past the 1ft line, as long as they were not in the way of the class, to just play a little with parents there watching. But apparently people complained to management about this, though i dont know why, but my impression was something about fairness. Who its unfair to I also don't know. We paid for our classes, its not open swim time so we arent in the way of members or $5 arm band buyers. Plus it wasnt even getting strictly enforced until several minutes after our kids were playing quietly already in the water. How fun and fair to get to tell a toddler that all of a sudden the rules are different and we have to get out of the water, bc management couldn't come up with some other solution or answer for the complainers. Come up with a solution, like a different color wrist band, for those who have paid for a class and are there either waiting for a sibling or their own class (two classes paid for) bc I find the sudden change and the policy unfair. Anyone from management on shift this morning probably knows who this is. Im the one who let my toddler scream every time I told him we apparently needed to get out of the water. Several of us were...
Read moreI signed up my kids for swimming lessons for the first time here, but they were sent to the wrong class. Before each class, the kids are supposed to be checked in. When the coach didnât find my kids on the list, they didnât say anything to meâthey just told my kids to get in the water, which made it seem like they were on the list. I assumed I had signed them up for the wrong class because the other kids clearly werenât beginners, and I had already accepted that it might be my mistake.
Then I noticed the class end time was different from what I signed up for. When I asked the person at the front of the pool, I found out that my kids had been placed in the wrong class.
Honestly, the staff here donât seem to know what theyâre doing. If a kid isnât on the list, it should be obvious that theyâre in the wrong class. And what if I hadnât signed them up at all? Would they still have been allowed in? The person at the front didnât seem to careâthere was no apology. When I mentioned that the coach didnât inform me about my kids not being on the list, his response was just, âItâs not the end of the world.â It feels like itâs just immature kids working here.
I am not asking for anyone to take responsibility; I just want acknowledgment of the negligence. I simply wanted to ask where the correct class would be next time, but he clearly didnât care enough to even listen to what...
Read moreGreat work out place or winter/summer dip in the pool place. This is a Howard County Parks and Rec Community Center. There are options to join- better deals to those in Howard county- but ANYONE can drop in for a $5 day pass and take advantage of the upstairs extensive weight and aerobic machines as well as a large area for free weights. Bathrooms throughout, locker room downstairs and clean & nice showers. Family changing room available too. There is an indoor gym with a track to run around on the balcony, an outdoor basketball court (free), a climbing wall with instructors available at certain times for an additional cost. You can also rent the common hall for birthdays and other events- I rented it once for a pool party/birthday for my son and the place was great. You can also do birthday packages with the climbing wall and gym sports too. The heated pool is an oasis in the winter with a small kids' wading area, another open area near that, 3-4 lap lanes usually available, and a diving area. In the summer the greenhouse like pool area opens its doors to a patio complete with lounger chairs and umbrellas and a kids water area that is all kinds of fun. There is a snack bar but the hours are spotty and it almost always runs out of food. Good news is you can bring your own- just no glass bottles and please clean up after yourself! Overall a...
