Unfortunately I had a terrible experience here yesterday. One of the young saleswomen must have suspected I was stealing, following me and staring, and even going so far as to rip open the curtain as I was in the dressing room! This associate even continued to stand a few feet from me after this, as I waited for my sister to finish trying on her items. I felt confused, violated, and uncomfortable about what was happening. The manager on staff apologized and mentioned they had someone steal items the day before. But as a first time shopper here, and a business owner myself, it was incredibly disappointing and upsetting. Today I left a voicemail asking for the manager or owner to call me back so we can discuss what went wrong and maybe consider together how this can be better handled on their end. I wish I could be a patron but, of course, my sister and I both left...

All the stars for Sophie!!! I just moved to EC and needed one more quirky item for my quirky new apartment. Having an unproductive lack of decorating sense and a vague feeling of lostness, I honestly felt out of place walking into the "urban girl" store. Sophie greeted me right after I walked in and immediately made me feel welcome, valued, and understood (excited, even! :D) She swiftly pointed me in the right direction, provided multiple options for what I had spent too much of my Sunday searching for, and made the short time I spent at SEJ incredibly enjoyable and memorable. I drove out today after the holidays and after confirming hours on the web. When I arrived at 11:30, there was a closed sign. Hours on the door confirmed open at 11. I saw staff inside, so I tried the door. I then heard a snarky “Read the sign!” Someone then came to the door to explain that they were re-stocking. I can forgive being closed for stocking as there is no easy way to communicate this. I cannot forgive the rude comment to “read the sign” after waisting 40 minutes driving. How about a sign that says, “Sorry, we will be closed January 4 due to...
