old ellicott city is always a fun time. in the recent years since the floods, the community has grown stronger than ever, and it's been a very lively area. it's perfect for just going and window shopping, and every business owner/employee is very welcoming and kind. it isn't usually too crowded that there isn't enough parking, and there are various lots spread out from main street but still in reasonable walking distance. exploring the more residential areas and going up into the nearby hills is a lot of fun, too, and patapsco state park is super close. the town has a lot of character, and every visit is even better than the last. the biggest concern i'd have here right now is that a lot of people walking around don't wear masks, and the narrow sidewalks kind of make it hard to stay 6 feet away from people, but, again, it hasn't been incredibly crowded, so you won't be passing by people often. definitely recommend visiting all of the little shops, as they each have their own little twist on the antique vibe....

We used to visit this place very often when we lived in Baltimore. ECHD is located adjacent the Patapsco River and has seven hills that give it a very interesting geography. That, along with the historic architecture, unique stores (some of which have several floors), taverns, restaurants and lush vegetation makes ECHD a little oasis in the midst of a busy suburban area. If you happen to visit ECHD, you should drive to the other side of the bridge and ride along the winding roads of Olea. Note: Avoid visiting this historic city Mondays or Tuesdays, as the majority of the stores are closed. Breakfast at The Trolley Stop is a must. Manor Hill Tavern with its Beer Garden is an excellent option to grab a bite...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place was beautiful and the people felt so at ease and happy. I felt relaxed and the merchants were very pleasant to talk with. They made you feel at home. The band at the wine place was good. Lots of friendly people attended. Almighty God really blessed the tone of the place. I had a gelato for the first time and it was great (strawberry shortcake). And the two women there were so friendly and welcoming. Sorry I didn't get there names. I will be definitely going back for another gelato...
