During this holiday season, I thought it would be worth a few minutes to provide an honest review about this store and its owner. First, about the store - Su casa has a fantastic selection of different items for each living space of a home. I know firsthand, as my wife and I cannot stop going back. Highly recommend a walk though their showroom as there's always something to add to the wish list.
I also can't say enough about the business's owner, Nick Johnson. We have worked with Nick several times and he has always been incredibly helpful and warm. I have been particularly impressed with his transparency as his business has been deeply impacted by supply chain shortages. These last two years could not have been easy on the business, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed they can make it through the pandemic in one piece.
Nick is also a vocal and passionate member of the communities that his business serve. When his sales floor was shut down due to COVID-19 quarantine, he opened his doors to the American Red Cross to host blood drives. When community organizers wanted to raise money for computers for Baltimore City students in need, Nick Johnson had already thought of it. He spearheaded the effort to fundraise and hand-delivered the computers to their needy recipients. The world and our community needs more Nick Johnsons in it. Please support this business and...
Read moreWe were in town visiting family for Christmas and stopped in at Su Casa in Ellicott City. My 4 year old daughter and I were playing with the train in the front window next to another father and his son. We pushed one of the train pieces on the tracks for about 1-2ft. The owner of the store Nick Johnson came over and yelled, "Don't touch the train!" My daughter was pretty scared and embarrassed. I looked for a sign that states not to play with the train and there was none. I approached Nick about 30 seconds later. I stated that we didn't see a sign. Nick stated, "There is a barrier." The so-called barrier couldn't stop my 3ft tall child from touching the train, so I'm not sure what he expected with no sign or rope to block people. I told him he didn't need to yell at her. Nick stated, "I wasn't yelling at her, I was yelling at you." I replied I don't care, that's not how you talk to people and you scared my child for no reason. Nick didn't seem to care, and he said maybe we should leave the store. So, we left. I would never return to a store run by this guy, and I would highly advise others to stay away at all costs. People like him are two-faced selfish cowards. Clearly, Nick Johnson should rename the store Mi Casa, because he definitely doesn't make you...
Read moreBeautiful Furniture! From the owner, to the in house designer, to the delivery people, we have had a great experience furnishing our home with Su Casa’s unique pieces. We had hired someone who claimed to be a designer (our big mistake) who at least had the good taste to lead us to this store. She took no measurements but insisted we buy several oversized pieces. When I called the owner and explained that some items didn’t seem to fit, he sent out Leslie, Su Casa’s designer to solve the problem. Leslie put together a professional portfolio complete with choices of different side tables, rugs etc. to pull the whole look together. She stayed on top of the project and her response to questions was immediate. The delivery people are friendly and professional. Buying furniture from Su Casa was an...
