I want to start by saying my initial appointment with Ana went well and she was very nice prior to the discussion of my budget. At the end of the initial appointment, she quoted me over $700 for what I thought were fairly basic alterations (hem, cup removal, sleeves to be sewn on and a bustle). I called her shortly after to kindly let her know that $700 was outside of my budget for alterations, but that I would still like to work with her. I asked if we could forego the bustle to get closer to my budget (I was NOT asking for a discount on the work she would be doing). She was rude on the phone initially and told me that she already felt like she was “shooting herself in the foot with the price she was giving me” and told me I could either pay her for her time and try to find someone cheaper, or if we omitted the bustle it would be closer to $450, but no less. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have listened to my gut after this call and gone to get my dress, paid her for her time, and taken it to someone else, but I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt, thinking we had come to an agreement. If she did not want my business after I told her about my budget, I wish she would have directly said that and not even offered the alternative. Rewinding to the initial appointment, I was having a hard time deciding how I wanted the sleeves to be placed, but she told me I did not need to decide that day and we could go over it more at my next appointment before sewing them on. Additionally, the chest of my dress was noticeably pointy and I told her this was one of the main things that bothered me about the dress. I specifically asked if this could be fixed and she said that removing the cups would fix it. Fast forward to this month, I go to the follow-up (2nd) appointment thinking it was just another try on with further adjustments to be made. When I walked in, she called me by the wrong name and when I corrected her, she told me my dress was done and ready to be taken that day. I was very confused as we had not officially discussed how I wanted the sleeves done. I tried it on and was happy with the hem, but was not entirely happy with the sleeves and noticed that the chest still looked pointy despite the cups being removed, which I brought to her attention. She told me I was “hyper-focusing” and that “these were not things other people would notice”. I told her I understand she thinks other people may not notice, but it is something I notice. She then told me that the issue with the chest was “the structure of the dress and could not be fixed”, which is not what I was told initially. After multiple attempts to kindly voice that I wasn’t happy, I finally decided to just take the dress because she was not listening to me and everything I brought up was quickly brushed off. Since I was unprepared to take my dress that day, I did not have cash with me and was told there was an additional fee for using a card. In the end, I paid $517.50 for the hem, cup removal and sleeve addition (and card fee). My dress is Chiffon, so she said the 3 layers were what made the hem itself more expensive (over $400 on its own). I drove away in tears and decided that I wanted to get a second opinion on if the chest issue could be fixed, so I reached out to another Seamstress who was able to see me that same day. I was told that not only could it be fixed, but that it was an easy fix and she didn’t know why Ana had told me otherwise. She was in fact able to fix it and it looks much better. She was also able to help me with the sleeves and additionally noticed that my straps were too loose and adjusted those too. For over $500 I should NOT have had to consult a second Seamstress to feel good in my dress. I am a very easy-going person and not usually one to leave negative reviews, but I wanted other brides who have a stricter budget to be aware of how they could be treated. She was in the middle of moving locations during all of this, so I am unsure if that was a factor for the poor customer service and communication. Either way, it...
Read moreI was super stressed about having my dress altered, so I took my dress shop’s suggestion to see Ana. I called months in advance (March, wedding was September 14) and Ana had me book a July 30 appointment. I gave her specific information about the dress, including designer and style number, and she was well aware of the wedding date. I verified multiple times that this was enough time to get alterations done prior to confirming the appointment. I showed up the day of the appointment and as we started chatting about timeline, Ana acted like there was no time to get the alterations done... I reminded her that this was the date she suggested when I called 5 months prior and she backtracked and insisted she could actually get things done. I put my dress on and as she was starting to pin under the skirt she made repeated comments about how complicated and time consuming the alterations would be and what a bad material the dress was. She then proceeded to pull out her calendar and start demonstrating how busy she was and how she had a trip coming up. At this point there was no way I was trusting her to dismantle my dress even if she did have time. She offered some halfhearted suggestions for other places in the area and I was left frantically trying to find someone to alter my wedding dress 6 weeks out from the wedding despite doing my due diligence and selecting and booking a seamstress 6 months prior. I’m glad no one else seems to have had similarly unprofessional experiences, but this was a real low point in my wedding planning experience. Fortunately I was able to find someone to alter my dress, but I had to pay hefty rush fees thanks to...
Read moreWOULD NOT RECCOMEND. Ann was very unprofessional and made rude comments about my body. She does not keep her word. Do not use this alterations company.
I gave her my dress for a month and expected it to be done on the date she promised me. After a month, I came back and she had no idea where my dress was(even though I had an appointment for that specific date and time). After ten minutes, she finally found my dress. I tried it on and she had done NOTHING to my dress. The dress had not been altered at all. She said I misunderstood, but my mom and I were both there and she told us the dress would be ready on that date. I left very upset and feeling worried. I waited another three weeks (until it was getting uncomfortably close to my wedding) and called to see if my dress was ready. She told me to come in and pick it up. I come in a few days later and the store had completely moved locations and she did not notify me of this at all. We literally opened the door to her store and it was just an empty room. I thought my dress was stolen. After all of this, she still charged me $700. I gave her the cash, grabbed my dress, and ran out of there as fast as I could. I'm not one to write reviews, but that was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Do not trust this lady with your...
