I’ve been buying my holiday candy here for over 4 years, spending an average of $500 a year here. On a recent trip they were incredibly rude and refused to accept my moms debit card because it was my dads name on the card. I offered to buy the candy she had intended on purchasing, and I calmly informed them that it s no longer standard practice to refuse a sale after the purchaser declines to provide identification (Visa and MasterCard actually prohibit merchants from refusing sales on the basis of identification), and they decided not to sell the candy to me either, which is pretty absurd given that I was calm and polite the entire time. The people were rude, refused to wrap a bunny in saran wrap, and when I offered my tri counties visa debit card for payment of my 52 dollar bill, refused it because my husband's name was on the joint account and not just mine. The first time I even called to be sure they made and had dark chocolate truffles, I was quite clear I did not want crème’s, but when I got there they only had crème’s. The second attempt my wife went and asked for dark chocolate turtles but was given crèmè’s again, only discovered when she got home.
