Surfside Burger Shack — Restaurant in Eureka

ZERO stars. Seriously the most discusting food my family and I have ever eaten. And We have eaten at resteraunts all over the pnw/ north cal and this is definitely the worst we've encountered. Fries were gross, raw and tasteless. Onion rings may be the worst thing ive ever eaten in my life. Had a terrible funny taste and I couldn't even swallow it. Burgers were way below average and undercooked and not sure if it's the oil they use but it all tastes very strange... 70 dollars worth of food and it all went in the garbage! The new owners are actually worse than the old ones and that says alot. Save your money while in Eureka and go to McDonald's. It's cheaper and won't make you sick.

#1 nobody ever cussed at you or did anything really but let you know our food was severely undercooked, soaked in grease and tasted extremely strange. We didn't want our money back, we didn't want you to fix it, all we wanted was to let you know your cook is very lousy and we wouldn't be returning again because of it. You implying we would ever even want to return to your resteraunt after spending almost a hundred dollars having to throw it all in the trash is an insult at best.

#2 The customer is always right. And when multiple customers tell you your food is basically garbage. It's best to take the hint and...

For those of you with short attention spans: the food is good; it's worth it to eat here. Period.

TELL THEM HOW YOU WANT YOUR BURGER COOKED

I got my burger and it was great...seriously, it was very good but they cooked it a little more well-done than I prefer. It actually had a little bit of crunchiness to it because it was cooked more than I liked. It's not their fault. Just be sure to TELL THEM HOW YOU WANT YOUR BURGER COOKED.

I got the "classic" because it was my first time there and I wanted to give them a fair shot at what I consider a basic burger.

The french fries were crunchy and salty and delicious.

The atmosphere/decorations are a little stark and basic but can be forgiven because the food makes up for it.

The tables have Trivial Pursuit cards on them and can make for a great thing to do to pass the time (put down your phone!). I also noticed they had crayons for the kids to color with too (but didn't see any color pages...maybe color on the walls?).

Anyway, we ended up feeding a family for about $35. And, bottom line, I would give it another chance and this time I would tell them how I want my burger cooked...

Saw this place on DoorDash, read reviews on Google Maps, found interesting items on their menu & decided to give them a try.

The mushroom swiss burger is in the top three best burgers I've ever had (I'm 54 years old so I've had a lot of burgers...lol). The garlic fries were perfectly prepared & tasty & there were a lot of them. NOW, the item that blew my mind & which I'll be ordering again very soon were the SHARK BITES! I love bacon, jalapeno, cheese & deep fried things & SHARK BITES combines all of these things into one absolutely delicious appetizer. The first bite had me HOOKED! Next time I order these I will try to save a couple to enjoy after my meal but I highly doubt that will happen so I'll just have to order double. YES, they are that delicious!

I do wish they would accommodate special requests because I don't eat tomatoes & I hate to waste food so I had to pick them off my burger but it was worth it.

Surfside Burger Shack has a customer for life & I'll be telling others!

1/28 update: just had the fried mushrooms, garlic fries & Southwestern Swell burger & everything was delish! This place knocks it out of the park everytime! I'll get around to trying everything...
