I have a professional career. Here is my fair and honest opinion about this place. You should be aware of this physical therapy facility. This is what happened to me. They said that they have validated my benefits with the insurance company, and that I will need only to pay $ 50 co-pay per session. They then enrolled me in a long physical therapy program with a senior physical therapy member. She/he saw me only once, then she/he assigned me to some physical therapist with no experience at all, the person was working on a short contract. My pain was significantly lower when I started with them, then in addition to the incorrect information they gave me about the insurance, I ended up having more pain and paying a lot more money to pay for them, they will never tell you anything except your co-pay so temporarily they will make things convenient, then start sending you bills. Here is the trick the use, they will not send you bills until 3-4 months, so by that time if you have done 10 sessions, you will be paying like $ 1500-2000, the big question is why they are not sending the patients those bills from day 1, or why they don't even send those bills in the patients first few weeks. The answer is clear!
I never seen a business that treat patients in a very passive way, they don't even try to help you in managing payments, the only thing they will do is to send you to a billing company. So that is the worst experience I ever had in my life. What is even worse is that the Senior physical therapist will never see you again as well. it will be only a person with a very limited experience in Physical therapy. She will do 45 minutes sessions half of them are on a triad which you can see in any Gym. She/he was so fast doing exercises, not following me. Session was supposed to be 1 hour, and when get a bit late they will charge you for the whole hour. What they will do for you are exercises that you can do at home, very simply gym exercise that can do without even a device. It has no difference than any gym. The other serious issue is the lack of management or customer support, they will never tell you who to talk to. and you don't really know to who you will talk if you have an issue. The Therapist will be working with two patients at a time. So, they will not pay attention to you. Basically, half of the time my therapist was busy with the other patient admitted at the same appointment time of me. So, I ended up having more pain. On the positive side, only the lady collecting the $ 50 co-pay was very professional and respect patients, other than that, I am sure more people will be writing a similar review like mine soon.
One last thing is the incorrect diagnosis by their PTs, for example I came with a crazy pain in my neck, which was diagnosed as Cervical Disc, but they refused to treat me based on this diagnosis and insist that itis a muscle issue, and so they started giving me a TMS session by a physical therapist who didn't know how to use it, it now gives me a tinnitus in my left ear, something I started having after doing this TMS thing. The bad news is that they didn't discuss this with my doctor, and they tried this as random approach to treat.
It was surprising also that they will give you exercises that already exist on YouTube. They use no special devices, most of the strategies they used can be done for free at home. It is going to be the same exercise to do every time you go there. They will not try to do...
Read moreEveryone was nice and friendly until yesterday. First a therapist Introduced herself and begin to ask me several questions about an injury that I did not have. after my answers didn’t make sense, she realize she was questioning the wrong patient/client. She apologized and explained that she thought she overheard the receptionist (who has been extremely nice) call me by her next clients name instead of checking her paperwork. I accepted her apology and waited on my therapist Will Elliot. As Will began to work with me he seemed very agitated. As we continue through my exercises I became more uncomfortable with his deep compression massages. I questioned Him about the painful massages but as usual he Responded “ I’ve seen it help some ppl as well as did not help others”. After he completed the deep Massage, Will became even more annoyed with me because I was not completing all my exercises at home (which were unclear and he could never remember what he told me to work on at home). However, I Explained that I Did complete my 15 mins walks and ice pack as he instructed me to do at home. Moving forward to the large ball exercise, I explained to Will that i was not comfortable with this exc. Will became so irritated with me that he Begin to speak to me in a LOUD RUDE tone in front of other clients. Quote “WHY WOULD I GIVE YOU SOMETHING THAT WOULD HURT YOU!! I WOULDN'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING THAT WOULD HURT YOU TEVIS!!! IWOULD BE A FOOL!!! NOW WHATS WRONG?!?! After He finished YELLING at me as if I were a child, he pretended to assist me in completing the exercise and Then followed as he pointed toward the hall area “Go walk 3 laps in the hall area” so I did.. as I was getting ready to leave, Will looks at me while he is pointing to his head And says “Next time REMEMBER HOW YOU FEEL WHEN YOU GET HOME AND LET ME KNOW ON YOUR NEXT VISIT!!!! I could not believe how Mr Elliot was speaking to me! I have NEVER been treated with such DISRESPECT in a “Professional “ facility. Moreover, I was SHOCKED that it was coming from someone who had shared with me that we had similar duties in our christian faith. Will stated that he and his wife were Young Adult Ministers at their church. I understand we All have good and bad days and no one is perfect but as a professional, working with the public, one should keep it at a professional level communicating as well as interacting with patients. This kind of behavior is totally unacceptable.. P.S. I have been up since 3:30am with back pain And still bothered by the way I was treated by PT Will at Evans Rehabilitation...
Read moreEvans Rehab has been a wonderful place to go for physical therapy!!! I am currently going for physical therapy on my right shoulder after an extensive surgery. This is the 4th time I have had therapy here for different surgeries. I can honestly say that the therapists are very knowledgeable and they take time to listen!! They have requested OR reports, consulted with my doctor when needed, changed my routine if something is hurting... evaluated me to ensure there was no apparent damage. When things are going well and my movement and strength have been getting better, they continually change the therapy to ensure I am exercising the right muscles with the correct amount of weight/pressure. The therapists take the time to explain what the excercises are going to help and they check to make sure I am doing them correctly! BEST OF ALL- I go home and can pull up an e-mail that has the excercises in video format. This helps me to ensure I am doing the right things at home! The people here are caring and kind from the therapists to the ladies that set up my appointments! I have requested Evans Rehab when my doctor talks about sending me somewhere. My shoulder surgeon has been amazed with my recovery so far! I would and do highly recommend Evans Rehab to anyone needing physical therapy...
