Immediately felt very unwelcome. Walked in with model transports to be asked "what are you doing here" by the man behind the counter. Told him that we wished to play some tabletops, and to which he responded with "you should have called ahead", rather than professionaly and politely telling us how they normally reserve tables, no tables was in use while there so was I confused as to the hostility. After this, I turned around and went to another shop.
Edit:
Hello Edward,
In response to your response to my Google review...
It is unfortunate that you can "point out" my attendance in your shop on separate occasions and for several hours at a time, when in fact I have only been to your store one time previously, at which time we attempted to play tabletops, but was turned away as you were having a MTG event. I have never spent any time at your establishment other than to walk in, and be turned away. Please in the future before making statements, ensure that you are in fact using real data, rather than blatant lies.
It was my true hope that your store would be an inviting one, but I can certainly say that with the experiences I have had, it just it's one that I will attempt again to visit. I'm sure your business will thrive and do very well, it just will do so without my patronage due to my negative experiences attempting to game there and the reception received recently. Best wishes for the...
Read moreI’ve been here twice. First time was lovely, the lady working was super nice, my wife and I play Pokemon so we asked if they had any in stock. They said unfortunately they were out but they should have a stock on Friday so come back and check! Totally chill on both ends no issues. We said thanks checked out the shop and left and headed out to find some cards elsewhere.
Decided to come back the Sunday of the same week and asked the Man working if they had already sold out of their new stock as I had spoken to an employee just a few days ago.
He said we only sell our Pokemon cards to the people who play here…. And was kinda stinky about too.. I said oh what days are your Pokemon days we will have to stop in some time so we can play.
He said Sunday, the store was empty…
Just felt that it was odd he didn’t want to sell a couple packs to us, we clearly aren’t scalpers. We just wanted to build some decks. But also if nobody comes here to play, why would I want to come in just to have nobody to play against so I can buy cards?
Idk, but the business model just doesn’t make sense. If you have cards to sell maybe set aside a stock for your regulars and then limit the rest to the general public?
Unfortunately won’t be coming back to buy anything cuz it...
Read moreI'm a long-time geek and gamer, with some experience working in the collectibles and comics area. I'm also a real fan of customer service and human connection, so when I wandered in to the store, I was pleased when the person behind counter made eye contact, welcomed me, and smiled.
The layout is open, well-lit, and there's plenty of stock to examine. A good selection of board games, collectible cards, figures, models, etc. Also some cool 'little treasures' that all the collectors seem to pick up.
It was clear from the name that this is a place with irreverent love for the subject, and the owner's story about how the name came to him is a great moment and a fun discussion - I definitely encourage gamers in the area to swing by, meet Edward while you shop a bit, and ask about it.
Oh, personal aside: as a former CCG player, the variety of DragonShield protectors carried here is pretty enjoyable. I recall the times I wanted more than two color options; I hadn't realized there were this many available, so......
