I am so sad. I know this is a small business and we love to support small businesses. So I'm writing this not to necessarily detour clients but to help the staff get better and for others to be aware of our situation.
It was our first time coming here and my oldest daughter was super excited. We did come with little kids (hard age to take anywhere anyways) but that's not where the issue lies. When we walked in, the kids were super chill but did get a bit comfortable and start moving around. When I went to order, I was a bit unsure of what I would like to try and I asked the older lady at the front what her favorite savory crepe was and she responded with "they are all my favorite". That's not helpful at all. I ordered 3 crepes and was waiting on my husband's order when she started to tell me my total and I said "oop we have one more" she sighed and was like "what is it". I gave her the order on the last crepe. She then said "okay what are you drinking", which I am new here and have legit no idea what is included or not. She definitely made it seem like drinks are included. Which I assumed they weren't. She proceeded to say "I'm guessing its for here" and I just said yes because I was delusional and uncomfortable, I usually always get my stuff to go because kids. We did end up changing it to a to-go order. I don't know if my issue was with what she said or how she made me feel while saying it. I felt super rushed and unwelcomed. My son made a happy little scream (annoying none the less) and she responded with "HEY, no screaming"... he is 2. So my husband scooped him up and took him to the car. Luckily no one else seemed bothered by the kids. One mom without kids even said "oh I've been there before" which, as a mom, is always nice to hear" She was nice to my 4 year old who made friends with a little girl from her school and was told about something cute with the gnome there. Which was nice.
We did end up getting home and seeing we were missing my husband's order. Which I know she rang us up for it since I saw the price change. It was just another feeling of her trying to rush us out of there. I'm not even bothered by being bothered by the kids. It was really how she made me feeling with ordering. I felt like the energy was like "you should already know these things and if you don't, you're stupid" even though I stated I had never been there. Overall the crepes were okay. Not really worth the price but everything is really expensive these days. The atmosphere was nice, coffee shop vibes which is cool. Definitely think if they don't want/like families, they should post it somewhere and if they don't want to, that's what this review is for, just to inform families. I totally get trying to have a kid free zone, just let people know ahead of time. Maybe direct them to ordering online and take to-go.
But anyways, I hope this helps that lady to better her people skill and help inform families to just order online and take to-go. It will be better for everyone's sanity.
Update before she changed her response: My children were absolutely chill when they walked in. They had tablets to keep calm. Sat in the window and waited. My 4 yr old only saw another child she knew and they walked around together. My 2 yr old son was the one who yelled. Once and then I told my husband to take him to the car. Which he 100% did. I was in no rush after that. The 2 girls, my daughter and the other child absolutely got excited about looking for gnomes and they were told if they were too loud they would scare off the gnomes. They quited down. The lack of accountability is alarming. I'm sorry its not great. I wish I could have left a great one. And I admitted that it's not necessarily a kid friendly environment. And my review was 100% reflecting on the fact that it's okay to have a place where it's kid free.
If they truly only charged me for 3 crepes then it was $80 for 3 crepes, $10 tip and 1 sparkling water (no flavor). That's even more insane then before I thought. Also the fact I watched the price go from $55 (+ change) to...
Read moreVegan friendly deliciousness! 🤤💚Stop what you are doing and make plans to go get crêpes from these amazing humans right now! I can’t say enough good things about the food, the atmosphere, the friendly staff and overall experience at Cup & Crêpe.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Sandra, who was making fresh crêpes but didn’t hesitate to welcome me in and answer all my “can you make that one vegan ?” questions while cooking!
Theresa the owner is a warm welcoming beacon of light that clearly wants vegans and non vegans alike to feel like there’s something for them on the menu. Any crêpe can be made vegan which was fantastic.
I ordered the Oma sweet crêpe which had Stewed apples, Bavarian cream, Streusel, and Whipped cream. It was perfection. The only thing wrong about it was that I didn’t order 4 of them to eat all at once. Outrageous and needs to be tried to be believed! No omnivore would have ever known it was vegan. Excellent.
Next up was the savory one: The Cabin, which had Mushrooms, Fried onions, Cheddar, Herbes de Provence, Fresh pepper.
Funny thing about this crêpe, when my wife took at look at it, she thought it looked underwhelming and wasn’t as excited about it compared to the sweet crêpe. However, when she bit into it for the first time, her eyes lit up and she pulled it away from me, gesturing that she was not going to share. I confirmed her findings when I tried it myself. Savory ecstasy. Out of this world. Just the absolute perfect combination of spices with beautifully cooked mushrooms and ooey gooey cheese. I could commit to eating one of those every day for the rest of my life.
I also got an oatmeal raisin cookie that reminded me of my grandmother‘s. It was outrageously good. Don’t be fooled, Theresa’s cookies are a dark horse.
Also grab yourself a latte. She’s got all sorts of plant milks and makes an excellent latte using beans from a local roaster.
Do yourself a favor and go grab yourself some delicious food from these really nice people. You will not be...
Read moreDelicious and hearty! I've eaten here twice, both times with people who eat meat, and they really enjoyed it. So if you aren't a vegan or vegetarian or gluten-free, you can still definitely be delighted with the food! Also the gluten-free crêpe is an option, so if you want the wheat version (what I got both times) it's there for you.
The first time my group of three each got savory crepes with a sweet one to split amongst us for dessert. All of us were really hungry when we entered, and we weren't able to finish that dessert crêpe until later because those crêpes are filling! ! Of course, the cookies might have had something to do with that also...
I'm not usually a huge snickerdoodle fan but wow the flavor and almost cakey texture was just scrumptious. We also really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie we had that day. I added the field roast sausage to my The Cabin and it was super delicious. I liked it so much that even though I was convinced I would try something different the next time, I ended up getting the same one! That said, I'm really eager to get a sweet crêpe on visit #3 because I didn't realize the Bavarian cream is accidentally vegan. Second time through we had an oatmeal raisin cookie which was just bursting with both of those ingredients. Yum! We also tried the Italian soda, and that was a very nice touch.
The owners were welcoming and enthusiastic. I can't deny anyone else's experience, so I can only say I felt completely welcomed as a brown woman, and I noticed a gal in a hijab is currently employed there as well. Got nothing but good vibes from all parties.
As for the space, it's very clean and has many darling touches to appreciate. Parking is plentiful, and the location makes it easy to combine with errands or other fun stops along Everett Mall Way. In fact, we learned about an upcoming promotion with Soundbite Cider that will be a pairing, so you get $1 off both the featured crêpe and the featured cider that are selected to pair well together. What...
