El Tapatio of Farmington — Restaurant in Farmington

I wouldn't even give them a star if that were possible. We had never eaten there before. We still haven't actually. We were seated in a booth with a window. The window was filled with flies. The flies were big and buzzing frantically. Several of the flies were dead on the window sill and others were still kicking their legs. When the waiter came with our drinks and to take our order I ask him if he actually ate there? He assured me he did like 4 times a day. When he asked me why, I pointed to the window and said I was getting an uneasy feeling with the flies. His response was that they were a problem, but they were supposed to have wiped them out of the window sill that morning and walked away as if it were nothing. When he brought us our food one of the flies literally dropped in the middle of the table in front of me on it's back kicking it's legs. I made my husband and son get up. I was not allowing them to eat here. If the front of the house where customers are is in this condition, who only knows what they consider okay in the back of the house. We stood by the hostess counter for several minutes while the Owner was informed we were unhappy and would like to speak with him. I noticed the Servsafe food safety certificate on the wall as we waited. I informed him of my issues and how I refused to allow my family to eat the food. I also explained to him I am a Certified Servsafe Instructor and Proctor. He said yes they use the program. I told him I thought otherwise. He then said he wouldn't charge me for the meal. Seriously, he honestly said those very words. I wasn't sure if I should be upset or laugh? Food safety is not something I joke around with. People die from eating bad food. Use your own judgment, but mine is...

I had been to this location a couple years back and had a really great experience. I took my family today to try and share that experience with them. We were seated right away and someone brought chips after a minute....then nothing. There were only a handful of other tables in our section that were seated. Staff were just hanging out at the entrance to the kitchen. Another table was seated next to us, drink orders taken, drink orders received, and placed their meal orders before anyone even came to ask what we'd like to drink. As we decided to get up and find another restaurant a staff member came over and asked what we'd like to drink....we went ahead and left. If it was just that they were busy or understaffed I'd understand but that's not what this was. They just weren't paying attention and were more worried about hanging out then taking care of their job. A shame, as I remember their food...

Unfortunately, on our last two trips, the food was way below standard and the enchilada wrappers tasted of freezer burn, still cold and stiff, when this meal was served! Thought I would stop in for, Taco Tuesday, ordered chicken soft tacos, which were soggy, underportioned and had a terrible after taste. No excuse for serving food like this! Note, we had our, company Christmas Dinner, at this location and one of our party was served a dinner which she did not order. Management response was, to argue with this customer and insist that she was wrong on what she ordered rather than just replacing their mistake with the correct menu item which she did order! I was sitting directly across from her and heard her place the order! This type of customer misstreatment is inexcusable under any circumstance and considering this was a, company Christmas dinner,...
