Right off the bat, I had a gut feeling that my experience was not going to be a good one. I have been going to Teghin for my hair coloring at this JCP salon location and she knew EXACTLY what she was doing and time and time she accomodated me in coloring my hair and constantly exceeded my expectations. She has since relocated to another salon and for convenient purposes (this location is closer to my house than her new salon location) I book a reservation with JCP Salons. I booked a color appointment for 1:00pm on Friday with Heather. I get to my appointment 5 till 1 and the lady at the front desk tells me that Heather was not even working today. I proceed with getting my hair colored anyway with a "Mary Jane". This switch is fine, as I trust the ladies at JCP and I consider myself to be a flexible person. My mistake. Mary Jane was late 20 minutes. Which I do not understand, as the stylists should know their appointments in advance, AND i booked my appointment 2 days prior. Finally at 1:25pm, Mary Jane finally makes it in after the other stylists informed me that they have been paging her and overhead-calling her. She explained to me that she lost track of time handing out coupons on the JCP floor. Mary Jane seemed rushed near the end. I understand my hair appointment and requests proved difficult, however, this was the same case with Teghin, but she always finished with care, making sure I was happy with the final product. While my hair was processing, Mary Jane agreed to take on another client and cut her hair. I had to wait for her after my hair had been sitting and washed. And it just felt wishy washy watching her go from me, her first client, and the other girl. In the duration, I asked questions as I am not a hair expert and got very vague and brushed off answers. She also failed to explain to me that my color would be darker on my hair than on the sample cards. A mocha color now looks like red streaks in my hair. :/ She also spilled the toxic dyes all over me and the chair and we hastily had to contain the product before it hit my skin. While she was blowdrying my hair, she had extremely long nails, which left scratches all over my forehead. I also heard her apologizing to the other girl for her broken nails that were over due for a cut. During the hair dry, she was also rushing and using her fingers to untangle my hair and was seriously rushed. Come to find out, she had a client that she seemed to be regular with, that had come in at 5:00pm. I am not saying that she cannot have other clients, but she was rushing on me when she herself was late. In the end, the girls up front messed up on my payment with a Visa Gift Card and I was left leaving unsatisfied with my almost $100 hair job and a bad experience. Mary Jane was a very nice person, but my experience will make me put quality, over convenience and to never come to this location to get my...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever experienced. Walked into the store with my mom at around 6:55 and was stopped by the manager and was rudely told that the store closed at 7 and that they were closing up. My mom thought she had a reward that expired today and knew what she wanted, so we quickly grabbed the item and hurried to the cash register to check out - all still within that five minutes.
When we got to the register, the manager was having a conversation with the one cashier so we had to wait for them to finish their conversation so that we could check out. While we're with the cashier (who was incredibly sweet and patient with us) at 6:58, the manager and another associate locked the store early and locked us into the store and loudly complained about how they couldn't wait for the store to be closed and they knew they weren't supposed to lock the doors early but both were in agreement that the doors should be locked. They also turned off the lights in the store while we were actively trying to check out and tried to rush us out.
We asked when they started closing at 7 instead of 8 and we were rudely told that they'd never closed at 8 before and we must've been thinking about the Stone Briar Mall location. Both the associate and the manager on duty were catty and talked down to us the entire time. The associate even coldly telling us "And just so you know-every business on the strip closes this early. It's not just us." The cashier was the only friendly one, taking her time with us. Even when we were leaving, as the manager unlocked the door to let us out she made sure to tell us to "go straight out" as we were walking out of the store. The manager was a tall woman with curly blonde hair and the rude associate was a young blonde woman.
I've worked in retail for over a decade and I'm currently a retail manager. I understand that it can be upsetting to have customers come in right before close, but that's no excuse to treat someone so poorly and essentially harass them until they leave. It's especially ridiculous to turn the lights off in the store when there are still customers in the building. Very disappointed with the customer...
Read moreI have been a big fan of JC Penny's for a very long long time ....However like all good things come to an end this store almost did. Simon Property took over ...While the selection is still somewhat good. It's not the same with fewer employees expected to do so much more with less staff. Greedy shareholders need to spend a month working as an associate and make necessary adjustments. There once was a saying I loved. He who has the Gold makes the rules... Not anymore. There is a major supply and employee shortage or didn't the shareholders notice ? Pay twice as much and you will see sales soar. But for a measley 20 or 12 bucks to wait on the Public as we know it well. Come on this isn't rocket science. But pay 20 an hour ...Now you get people to show up and do a great job eagerly. Partnering with brands is a waste if you can't lure customers in the store. I bought some fabulous bags priced right. Nicole and Kate found me an additional 15 per cent off. Be kind the merchandise is beautiful .The store is spotless. As a customer be patient understand the 🌎 will not miss you if you become nasty or entitled. Texas has some of the most beautiful and intelligent kind people I have ever come across. JC Penney is awesome and will continue to be. Open your pocketbook David Simon. Put your money where your mouth is .Pay better . Your shares will skyrocket I promise! But the salon omg. Lupa did a phenomenal job on my hair . Just look at the after photo. And at a...
