Updated UPDATE
I'm glad that I have this place another chance. The chicken was delicious again. I got it without sauce. Pork fried rice was fresh and fantastic! The interior has gotten a little strange but we ate at home, so it didn't matter to me.
UPDATE What has happened to this place? I bought bone in (me) and boneless (Mom) soy garlic wings and onion rings.
Mt mother loves onion rings but couldn't eat these with all of the salt on them. The boneless wings were DARK meat, so she couldn't eat them either.
I called to get a white-meat replacement but was told that they don't have any and to bring the boneless wings back for a refund. I probably should have thrown them in the trash and forgotten about it but I went in.
The cashier refunded the entire meal and I told him that he didn't need to do that, just the boneless wings needed to be refunded, so he rang up the rest of the meal and I paid for it.
He let me know SEVERAL times that I should ask if the boneless wings are white meat from now on. He them pointed out how it says dark meat on the chalk menu. However, the place he was showing was an only dark meat part of the menu and not the section for boneless wings. Of course, I pointed this out. He then told me he didn't want to argue with me, so I left. I like their bone-in soy garlic wings and I probably would have returned in the future, but the encounter has left me cold and there are a lot of great restaurants in the area that don't treat customers like naughty children.
†* Absolutely delicious. We had the soy garlic and sweet spicy chicken and onion rings. Everything was perfect. Flavorful and not greasy.
The workers were so nice. You could tell that they really give it their all. Especially the female. She brought my order out to me since I had my pup in my...
Read moreThere is such a thing as too much Bruno Mars. Especially when you’re at a Korean eatery, there are 3 televisions showing different K-Pop videos, and what’s coming out of the speakers is non-stop, uncensored, Bruno Mars songs and collaborations. I think if our meal had lasted any longer the playlist would have served up “F* You” by Ceelo Green (Bruno co-wrote it).
This wasn’t the worst thing here, but it is the reason the atmosphere gets a 1. Well, sort of. The atmosphere is like an unplanned pop-up shop. Table configuration doesn’t make sense, no budget spent at all on the host/server stand, and the whole place looks like it needs a damp washcloth on it.
Our host/server is definitely polishing their resume. No interest in being there and is, I can verify, exhausted of her manager playing Bruno Mars exclusively every shift they work.
I would think she was a pro when she didn’t write anything down of our order but she struggled with explanations of a few things. Which is ok. But when the food showed up wrong, well, it was a quick “sorry” and another 10 minutes waiting. That’s 3 additional Bruno Mars songs. It was deep enough into the playlist we were getting Silk Sonic tracks.
Corrected food comes, food is fine. Nothing special. I ask for a couple of sauces and get them. We finished and bailed.
You would think with having gotten a couple of things wrong on the order that something as small as “extra sauce” would have been gratis with the meal. Nope. $0.75 each, on the bill.
It was ok, there’s lots of really good nearby. The boneless chicken wings were huge and the sauces were good. The KO is VERY spicy.
But we probably...

If you haven't tried KO Chicken yet, let me tell you that you're missing out. As someone who spent the past decade living in Honolulu, it is SO refreshing to see properly made authentic Korean fried chicken. Texas just doesn't get korean fried chicken, especially since southern fried chicken style is such a big thing here.
I got the 4 boneless plate lunch (11am-3pm) for about $13, with Yum sauce on 2 and soy garlic on the other 2. It was made to order and cooked to absolute fried perfection. Crispy but juicy in all the right ways. Highly recommend the Yum flavor for sauce.
The boneless pieces are pretty massive - somewhere between a raising canes chicken strip and an actual chicken breast. 4 may not sound like much but it was actually a lot of food for $13. Also came with a canned drink which was a nice touch and reminds me of plate lunch back in Hawai'i.
I only encountered one staff member, young guy in his early 20s, and he was very professional and helpful with suggestions. The restaurant interior is nice and clean, I'm immunocompromised and felt safe being here and eating from this kitchen.
How you know this place cares about their food: The staff goes out of their way to tell you how to transport your take out (don't close the bag) so it stays crispy. They also cut strips out of the to-go containers to allow ventilation to prevent getting soggy.
I am thoroughly impressed, which doesn't happen often....
