this was our first time at pier 50 sushi (folsom).. what a great addition to the folsom food scene!
AMBIANCE when you first walk in, it's got such a fun vibe -- from the decor, to the music! fun art on the walls, neon lights, very very cool to see what they did with the space. also a great place to dine for customers of all ages; kids to adults!
SERVICE we got there around 8:15pm, so we didn't have much of a wait. Cody and Francis took great care of us; breaking down the menu and checking in on us at all the right times! the staff are all extremely kind and friendly; from the hostess to the food runners; excellent service all around!
FOOD if you've never been, the staff will break down the menu for you. you can order "a la carte" or an all you can eat option, which is broken down into different options. the cheapest food option (of the 3) still has SO many options, so the price is pretty reasonable; especially for all you can eat! everything we had was delicious. everything tasted super fresh and flavorful. it all came out pretty quick after ordering -- they've really got it down! the only thing we didn't love was the something wrong #7. it felt a little mushy when eating; it needed another crunchy element or something to offset the texture. however, TONS of great options for even the pickiest of eaters, people with food allergies, diets, etc.! something to be mindful of, they do charge if you don't finish your food. so order slow, and enjoy the experience!
PARKING lots of parking on the street or in the large adjacent parking garages nearby. pro-tip, park far away if you're doing all you can eat cause you will practically need to be rolled away after all the food you will enjoy
SEATING while we didn't sit outside they have a little dining area outside, that would be perfect for a cooler day/evening meal. lots of seating inside, but would recommend calling ahead for those busier times of day.
wish we could've tried more, but it's the perfect excuse to come back for more! looking forward to our next...
Read moreI had always wanted to try this place since it’s owned by the same person who owns the all you can eat sushi restaurant in Roseville (I used to go there). We went on a Saturday morning. They had a big group table for about 10 people ahead of us (family), and we thought, 'We need to order quickly before they do!' 😂😂
We chose Course B, and the sashimi/sushi was very fresh and delicious. Their menu/style is quite similar to the other place. But Their plating was beautiful, and the plates felt heavy and high-end, which added a nice touch! A few things though, I ordered the shiro salmon sashimi because it comes with garlic cream sauce and onion. Being Korean, I expect a good amount of garlic if it’s mentioned, but to me, it just tasted like plain cream sauce, with no garlic flavor. I would’ve preferred it with horseradish sauce. They also said the xxx sauce was the hottest they have, but there was no kick at all. The only downside was that they only allow one dessert per person, which is a bit frustrating for an all-you-can-eat place. But I’ve noticed a lot of these places are starting to do that. On the plus side, the servers were super polite, friendly, and fast! Plus, all the food we had was...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this restaurant today. We were here about a year ago and were very impressed back then, the sushi was fresh, delicious, and the atmosphere was great. That’s why we decided to come back.
Unfortunately, this time was a huge disappointment. We ordered four different sushi sets and the Jalapeño Pops appetizer. The appetizer was described as jalapeños bombs, but what we got looked like a tuna patty with a tiny strip of jalapeño stuck to it with cream cheese. It was not appetizing at all and completely killed our appetite. Pls see my picture.
We still hoped the sushi would be good, but all four sets tasted almost the same — overloaded with imitation crab and some kind of avocado purée than fresh avocado. It seems that once a restaurant starts doing “All You Can Eat,” the quality drops quickly, as they try to cut costs and increase margins at the expense of taste.
The sushi we had a year ago and what we had today were two completely different experiences. Sadly, we won’t be...
