My last review for The Melt was five stars across the board. I've deleted that one. I feel like I'm being generous with two stars this time. Last time my entire group of seven loved their food, the atmosphere and the staff was amazing.
This time there were only three of us and no one was happy with their food. "Not bad" was the best compliment anyone could give. The real kicker was my hamburger. I asked for a simple plain double hamburger. Meat and bun only. First one came out looking plain but when I checked there was a pile of what looked like green peppers in between the two pieces of meat. My girlfriend took that back to the counter and explained the problem. The same guy she explained the problem too brought another hamburger out that had the same stuff on it. This time it was literally falling out of the burger there was so much of it. Sent it back again. At that point "annoyed" would be an understatement. Sometimes later he brings yet another burger out. There was nothing on it finally. The first burger I got was this juicy, fresh, great looking burger. The final one I got was well done and dry. And from the taste of it you can't convince me they didn't just scrape off the stuff I didn't want on there and then throw it back on the grill for a bit.
I choked most of it down anyways because at this point my girlfriend and her mother were practically done with their meals.
Another thing I'm sure wasn't the same is that our "double chocolate" milkshakes were practically vanilla.
Anyways, the whole experience was pretty awful. Considering how good our experience was the last time I guess going to The Melt is akin to flipping a coin when it comes to what kind of experience you'll have. I don't like to gamble so I won't...
Read moreI find myself in Folsom nearly every weekend several months out of the year. I always enjoy trying new places and try to avoid anything I can eat at home in Elk Grove. Parking is fairly easy but somewhat challenging to find at times in the large Folsom Palladio shopping center. They serve a variety of burgers with an Angus/Wagyu blend, chicken sandwiches, fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, mac and cheese, milkshakes, and feature all natural fountain beverages from the Alameda Soda Company. They have a few canned beverages such as Coke and sparkling water as well as bottled water. I opted for their double barbecue bacon cheddar burger and bacon ranch fries. I ordered the burger medium, and it was prepared perfectly. It comes garnished with a pickle spear. The burger was made with high-quality ingredients and was honestly probably the best burger I've had in my lifetime. I've tried countless places coast to coast, and this took the cake. The fries were pretty great as well. They were hot and cooked perfectly and adorned with bacon, their cheddar sauce, and ranch dressing. The ingredients complimented one another, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I'll definitely be back in soon, and I look forward to trying a fountain beverage or milkshake. Their prices were fair, and the service was decent. They provide you with a buzzer for you to pick up your order. They accept cash, cards, and contactless payments. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. My only complaint was that there were a number of dirty tables, and a staff member was busy cleaning the top of the trash receptacles rather than wiping tables. It just seemed like a training issue or lack of awareness. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll...

Cons - ?? couldn't find any
We ordered one bottle of water, grilled cheese sandwich, mac and cheese, tomato soup, swiss and shroom burger, and fries and the bill was only $35.74. Not bad for all of that. The food was delicious. I think the tomato soup was my favorite. The portion is a smaller, single size. The flavor had strong tomato-y and basil flavors that makes dipping the grilled cheese a perfect accompaniment. The mac and cheese (melty mac) was enormous and delicious. As a side dish, the macaroni and cheese could serve 4 people. As a main entree, I think any one person would have leftovers. It comes in an aluminum container for easy re-heating in the oven. My husband thought the well portioned burger was delicious. They also offer vegetarian patty options.
