LUXE by the sea — Local services in Fort Lauderdale

BUYER BEWARE!! I Definately feel that this store takes advantage of the fact that the majority of customers are tourists. I purchased a bracelet (costume jewelry for approximately $18.00) while visiting Florida, which tarnished badly within 3 months. The bracelet was NEVER in water , not in a humid room, but kept with all my other jewelry (also costume jewelry which never tarnished). I visit Florida once or twice a year and planned to take the bracelet back to the sore on my next visit and explain what happened . BIG MISTAKE! I explained to clerk what happened and that I obviously could not returnn it in 2 weeks as I live in another state. I was treated very rudely and the clerk basically stated ...how do I know you are telling the truth! I was so appalled by her response that I called the owner (Angie) and explained again that after 3 monts the bracelet tarnshed badly, the reason that I did not return it then as I do not live in Florida etc. She did apologize for the clerks behavior but essentailly also indirectly accused me of lying by stating that she cannot be sure that "people" are not taking advantage of her! She stated that she does not want to be out the $ 18.00 ; but I guess she is ok with me being out the $18.00 !! She then ended the call abruptly by just saying "good bye" while I was still talking. I always support small business ( especially women in small business) but will never shop at this store or take any of my friends and family there again.
