The store is as lovely as any other in the country, the products beautiful and well made. The employees are friendly and capable.
None of that matters if you cannot receive the product. I ordered 6 dining room chairs to go with the West Elm table I purchased 15 minutes before, they are the same company so I usually shop them as one store. We received a delivery date of a month later. Fine the table was 6 weeks.
They lost my chairs in the warehouse. They performed a "dock search" (remember that term) and rescheduled for two weeks later. Delivery day, I watched the little truck circle my neighborhood on their tracking app. The order was cancelled without notification. I call and they say, they had to perform a "dock search" as they didn't have it on the truck. Reschedule for the next week. I have paid one of my employees to be at my house on each of these occasions to receive the chairs as I have a back injury. I called corporate, they were worthless. I asked to speak to a manager, they just simply said "You can call back after you receive the order for compensation." What?
My employee received the order two hours later than the tracker said on the next delivery but it was only two of six chairs.
They performed another "dock search" and found two more chairs. Set up another delivery date. Employee calls me after four hours to say they were heading home as the delivery was two hours late and cancelled. I look at the app and it shows cancelled. 45 minutes later I get a call that they are at my house with the chairs. They placed it by the front door, well in front of my front door, and left. Did I mention I had a back injury? It rained and they are leather but the box was quality and protected them enough that they were fine. We have had two failed attempts to deliver and three more "dock searches" for my two remaining chairs. They have zero concept of what they are doing.

Read moreBought a loaf of bread from a table set up in the Pottery Barn. First it was 3 for $15.00 but when I picked one it was $10.00 for a loaf. Before I could say no thanks the employee cut it up into slices with a knife and handed it to me. It was hard. He claimed it was frozen. I felt uncomfortable but the way he sliced it and packed it assuming it was a sale I ended up leaving with it. Feeling pressured. When I went back the next day as tbe bread was stale I was told by the manager that the store has nothing to do with the bread display and it was a private vendor who comes every few weeks. They asserted the bread is excellent and they all support the vendor. Thete must have been some free bread involved. They told me to call the vendor. He told me to put the bread in my oven to crisp it up and he wont be there for a couple weeks. I just wanted my money back and return the stale bread. Pottery Barn failed to disclose that they were taking no responsibility for that merchandise's quality and I left with a stale $10.00 loaf of white bread just the way I came. The employee or who I thought was an employee said the bread was hard because it was frozen. Except it never got soft. I could not believe that the Pottery Barn management did not stand behind goods sold on the floor of their store. Nor did they disclose they were leasing (?) floor space to another business. How that even works insurance wise is a mystery to me. I am not happy with the Pottery Barn and will not go there again. Lesson learned: Buy bread at a bakery. You know who made it....
Read moreI wished I had read the reviews before purchasing at Pottery Barn, the delivery experience has been disappointing to say the least. When I placed my order in September I was incorrectly informed at the store that delivery would be the week of October 4th. I received later instructions on how to schedule a delivery date and the window had changed to later that month given. Schedule was confirmed for an Oct 26 delivery, 3 emails received to confirm, but the delivery was cancelled and they did not contacted me to let me know, so I waited the entire day for them to show up!. I called the delivery scheduling team multiple times without luck, they dis not pick up the phone. So I called the store and complained, they looked into it and informed me a piece was missing in the distribution center and the delivery needs to be rescheduled waiting for the piece to arrive. I was informed I will need to wait until 10/31 to receive instructions on future delivery schedule. At this point I still don’t know when I will receive the furniture I ordered. The whole delivery process is a mess and certainly does not meet the standards of PB customers and brand. I would have not purchased anything needing delivery...
