Am I crazy or should a $500+ framing job be even? Went here to get my painting framed and after pickup, I noticed a loose red string and that the mat was uneven. I also wish I would have been told upon ordering that the mat would lose about a quarter inch under the frame. I wanted a 3in mat, so it would be clearly wider than the frame to add depth. They said they would fix the string and make it even but the sample picture that they showed me should have accounted for the loss in mat width (so that’s not their fault). I was just expecting/wanting a clear difference in width and didn’t get that. After my fourth drive to michael’s to pick up my “fixed” painting, I inquired about the edges of the mat still not being even. He didn’t measure it because there were other people waiting, so I went on my way bc I didn’t want to have to come back. Got home and the top edge is 0.2cm thinner than the bottom.
