Love this place! Tips for Newbies, Oldies and picky eaters: I'd never been to a Bahia Bowls, and do not have the eyesight of a young person - LOL. The beauty of this place, aside from the obviously great offering of affordable fresh and healthy "fast food", is the number of options you have to customize your selection. Love it! (Yes, i'm picky.) In no particular order: I had trouble reading the fine print on the overhead menu, standing at the front counter to order. SUGGESTION: Have a few laminated large print menus at the counter. (Maybe they did have handheld menus - I never asked.) It may speed up the ordering process if the cashier doesn't have to explain every option, or repeat when it's noisy or the customer is hard of hearing. STAFF: If you see a customer squinting, hand them a menu. Chipotle Salad Dressing is SPICY (I loved it, but beware), and best of all (to my taste) it did NOT have strong overtones of Mayo or Ranch dressing, like many creamy dressings do. Choose your chop! I loved that I could choose whether my salad was chopped Fine, Medium or not at all. Spinach and Lettuce mix!. I like raw spinach for its nutrition, but all-spinach salads are too much for me, and not enough crunch. I loved that I could opt for a mix of both in my salad. Corn//Black Bean 'Salsa': I got my Southwestern salad dry (ie, dressing on the side). It had a few black beans and corn kernels throughout - seemingly without the moist/watery tomato base that I associate with "salsa". I liked this! Honestly, I prefer simply back beans and corn, without the "salsa",.on a salad. While there was enough to make a pleasing accent, I would have liked more beans and corn, to add nutrition and make the salad more of a well-balanced meal in itself. I'm sure they'd add more upon request, which I'll do next time. Salad was huge, a great value - definitely meal size. It's worth having them mix in the dressing behind the counter if you're going to eat out of the take-out container. There's not enough room left in the take-out container to "toss" the salad (with your dressing-on-the-side) yourself. Hemp Proteiin Powder: What the heck is that? No idea, but I added it to my Acai Smoothie for extra protein and really enjoyed my healthy tasty purple smoothie. Great Staff and Manager: They were all friendly and seemed to care about doing...
Read moreI visited Bahia in The Forum yesterday, hoping to get a refreshing smoothie bowl since I was recovering from a cold and wanted something soothing for my throat. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
The first smoothie bowl I received had an overwhelming amount of granola and tasted like it had freezer burn. I chalked it up to possibly having an off taste due to being sick, but it still wasn't great. The granola made my coughing worse, and I decided to try again, getting the toppings on the side thinking it could get a better experience.
I went back inside and ordered a second smoothie bowl, asking for all the toppings on the side so I could enjoy the smoothie itself without extra granola and coconut flakes. Despite my request, they put the granola and coconut flakes directly on the bowl again, and the smoothie just didn’t feel fresh.
To make matters worse, I also ordered strawberry protein bites, which I noticed were made on November 23, even though I visited in December. I usually visit another Baja location in Bonita and have never had issues, but this location really missed the mark.
Overall, I spent over $30 on food that I couldn’t even enjoy. I won’t be returning to this location and wouldn’t recommend it based on...
