A Perfect Fusion: Smash Burgers & Ramen Done Right!
If you’re craving bold flavors and creative comfort food, look no further than SUMO SMASH. This hidden gem masterfully blends the best of American and Japanese cuisine with their knockout smash burgers and soul-warming ramen.
Let’s start with the smash burgers — crispy, juicy, and seared to perfection. The patties have that irresistible caramelized crust, layered with gooey cheese, and a buttery bun that holds it all together without getting soggy. Each bite is pure satisfaction. Whether you go classic or try one of their adventurous specials (SUMO PRO), you won’t be disappointed.
Now, the ramen. Wow. Rich, flavorful broths — from black garlic tonkotsu to spicy miso — with noodles cooked to the perfect chew. The toppings are generous and thoughtful: slow-cooked pork belly that melts in your mouth, jammy soft-boiled eggs. It’s clear the kitchen takes its ramen just as seriously as its burgers.
The vibe is chill and welcoming, with a modern-industrial aesthetic and friendly staff who genuinely love the food they’re serving. The service is fast, the playlist is solid, and everything comes out fresh and hot.
Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch or settling in for a laid-back dinner, SUMO SMASH delivers a unique and ridiculously delicious experience....
Read moreCame in on a random Sunday without really knowing what to expect. We ended up ordering the crunchy soy egg, pork belly bao, ragin shrimp, sumo pro burger, vn grilled pork sandwich, ga xe, and some ice cream.
The crunchy soy egg really set our expectations for the food to come. This was seriously good and creamy.
Pork belly bao extremely good, messy, and highly recommended. The bao bun is massive for a bao bun and super springy amd soft. The ragin shrimp, while on the same bao bun, was not as good. I think the flavor was drowned out by the sauce. They were still decent but the pork belly was much better.
The sumo pro burger was probably our least favorite thing here. There was just too much going on with this dish where everything just kinda didn't work together. Overall, the burger was fine but we wouldn't get this again.
The ga xe had a very tasty, sweet and salty, sauce. The crispy chicken had a nice texture. Would order again.
All in all, we will be coming back. We mainly want to try their ramen next, as well as a few...
Read moreThe seating was weird in that it was half full but I felt like I couldn't sit anywhere without being on top of someone else. The decor was also industrial in a sterile way, which I don't personally enjoy.
The service was good and the people were great, but it was slow and our food didn't come out together. There was about a 5 minutes delay between deliveries.
The food itself wasn't anything special. I got the Tokyo Lights burger, and it was an odd combination that reminded me of something I would find in Tokyo, but nothing really shined about the burger. I expected a smash burger given the name, but it was a normal burger without the nice chewy bits I expected.
I also tried the Ramen, and while it was good it didn't stand out in any way.
Overall I had expectations based on their branding, and unfortunately they did not live up to them. Nothing special unfortunately.
I would give them another try if they started actually serving a...
