Rare Finds Warehouse - Highlands Ranch Furniture Store — Local services in Four Corners States

Update as of 1/22/20: Rare Finds and John compensated us some of the delivery cost back for this misunderstanding. I appreciate their fairness in this regard/matter. I am writing this review to inform others of a mishap we experienced with Rare Finds at the Highlands Ranch location. I will start with the positive, Rare Finds is a great store with a lot of very unique and beautiful pieces. The staff we encountered in the store while walking around were very friendly and willing to work out and negotiate on prices.

We purchased a large (what they call oversized) bookshelf for our living room. The negative being the delivery and price of delivery for our piece. We were told at the store upon purchase to contact the Rare Finds 3rd party that does deliveries for them (John Baker). They handed us his business card and said "he takes over from here." We inquired about a quote for delivery at the store only to be told again "that was something to work out with John and that he communicates easily and quickly via text." No mention of pricing or a quote was discussed with us.

I texted John about timing to deliver, as well as a quote for what he charges given our address. He replied about a time frame of when he could deliver remarking that he would follow-up the next day to confirm and provide a window of time, but never mentioned the price. The next day he provides a window of time. Again, I ask about the quote/price and what forms of payment he accepts. He blatantly ignored my text in regards to price. Monday comes and he delivers the piece. What took about 10 minutes to unload from the truck and put the piece inside cost us $170 (via Venmo). Did I mention the bookshelf had wheels and the piece was mostly wheeled into the house?

My SO called Rare Finds to dispute this cost and the lady he spoke to had very little empathy to the situation and remarked that was their pricing and that they go over that with each guest. Either that was a flat out lie or they simply failed to go over that with us. We found out after the fact that the $170 for delivery was correct in what they charge, but the fact that we had no idea what we were paying until it was already delivered was both shady and ridiculous. We are very disappointed in how this was handled and I am writing to others to make sure you demand full information from Rare Finds before you leave the store...since you certainly won't get it from John Baker. In retrospect, we absolutely would have declined a $170 delivery and opted to rent a truck and do it ourselves for less than $50. While you may find a "rare" and unique piece - consider handling the delivery...

My sister and I recently stopped by Rare Finds Warehouse and were so impressed by both the store and the service. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Ariel, who told us about their amazing 50% off sale happening that day — such a nice surprise!

Even with the store being busy, Ariel checked in with us several times, answered questions, and even helped us track down items to fit specific dimensions we needed. Her friendly, helpful attitude definitely added to the experience. And her understanding of design concepts made her advice valuable.

I cannot BELIEVE the vibe of this place!!!!!!!!!! Every single employee is SUPER sweet, and in today's world where good labor takes a miracle to find, you can tell the people working here really love their jobs and love sending people home with the perfect piece!! Everyone is so happy and friendly, which is such a difference from their other store. I came in with my friend who gave them a lot of business this week, and as a thank you they were willing to work with us a little bit on some of the prices. Everything is really great quality, super beautiful and unique, and the staff really just makes your visit a true experience. Thanks, we will definitely be back!!
