My husband and I wanted to try something new and were looking to try this restaurant for dinner and when we walked in we sat ourselves as instructed by a sign (no greeting) and no one came to serve us as we waited for a good while. Finally I approached the bar even though they clearly saw us when we arrived. The bartender she seemed idn tired or tipsy and flirting with the men at the bar as I stood there waiting to talk to her. It was not busy at all and the bartender wasn’t even working or making drinks or serving food at all. I asked for menus and asked can someone serve us? I was told ‘well if you want I can come get your drink order soon.’ I responded with yes please we would like to eat. Then I was told that once the comedy show starts in the next 10 mins I cannot order food unless I come to the bar. I said we would like to order food now before the show if that’s ok! She said yea rudely and gave me such an attitude and never did come over to order our drinks like she said she would. We waited a little longer to see if we would be served…and we never were. So we left. Very upsetting and disappointing. The bartender was a mess and acted a mess. My husband and I won’t be returning just because of the lousy service. It’s a bummer because the atmosphere and lounge area and the shows seemed inviting at first…we wanted to experience it all but couldn’t because we were simply not acknowledged even after reaching out to bartender which seemed to be the only one working at the moment and there was no service or greeting at all. We went next door to brewers alley and a whole other and much much better experience with a big tip! At least they acknowledged us! You guys missed out! Management, check out your lousy staff…they may just be flirting with the men at the bar instead of working or...
Read moreThis literal cellar is cozy and tucked away in the heart of Downtown Frederick. A lively mixed crowd. Its a great place to get lost alone or with a buddy..or a few friends. The vibe is so upbeat and jazzy. Service is prompt and friendly. I had the pleasure of visiting during Frederick Resturant Week. The menu was quite inviting and EVERYTHING sounded delish. I had the crab balls appetizer...they were fantastic!. The scallop and asparagus dish was perfection. Buttery seasoned deliciousness. Asparagus was cooked perfectly crisp. The filet mignon mushroom and asparagus dish with garlic butter mash was melt in your mouth phenomenal. Portion sizes were just right. The chocolate mousse (served inside a decadent dark chocolate cup) and raspberry cheesecake dessert options were winners and paired very nicely with the strong cocktails. Strawberry mojito was a great starter and had a little too much fresh mint but over all was like a soda. The white cranberry Cosmo was a show stopper for me. Although my first and second were different colors ...they were equally as strong and delish. I give this place a strong 5... My best rating for a restaurant because the food was AMAZING.🍲❤ Also the service was great..they all worked quite efficiently...my food was piping hot..my glass 🍹stayed full ..and staff was quick to respond to any question I had or request. This place has regular live entertainment🎶. Lastly...The bathroom was clean and neat.🌺 I actually can't wait to return for a comedy show this weekend. Kudos Cellar Door! Read moreThis place used to be amazing. It is a long time staple of frederick and I am the third generation of my family to eat here. My girlfriend and i used to love the place, frequenting every couple of weeks for date night. We came about 6 months ago and had the goat cheese balls with raspberry preserves, some drinks and salads. The goat balls were 4, 1-ounce balls, fried (not bad) but the raspberry preserves was smuckers strawberry jam or similar. When I ordered a drink I ask the bartender/waitress to make a gin based drink of her choice because I didn't like the gin based specials in the menu. Her response was that she thinks they have beefeater gin if that's what I wanted...
We just came back today for happy hour, the restaurant was not terribly busy with about 3/4 of the seats full. We asked for a bourbon and coke single tall; received a bourbon on rocks in a short glass. I asked for a coke so i could just mix in the bourbon and it arrived in 15 minutes after the bartender came to check on us and noticed he forgot. We also ordered the sea food empenadas. After about 30 minutes he brought 2 sliders to the table. When we asked what he gave us he was confused and asked if we ordered the sliders. We said no to which he replied "oh were out of seafood empenadas, someone must have ordered the last one before I could put it in"....so I guess that means we just get sliders....
Likely will not be back. Sad to see a place that used to have Rockstar staff become...
