What a great meal with fantastic service at The Tasting Room in Frederick Maryland.

We were gifted a very generous gift card to this restaurant. We had eaten here in the past, but had the opportunity to head back here. We used OpenTable and booked our reservation several weeks in advance. Mostly because of our schedule, but we’re excited to go back.

Our server was Jessica and she was probably one of the best servers we have had in the past two years. Extremely knowledgeable about the wines, and very strong on the menu selections. Professional and attentive. If I could give her six stars, I would.

For dinner we started with a Black Martini and a Lily Pad. Jessica explained the drink to us so we went with it and was not disappointed. With dinner we had a bottle of Inglenook Zinfandel. Delicious.

For food we started with the Panko Shrimp and the charcuterie board. The cheese selection was very good and the elk sausage was tasty. For main courses we all had the filet. Great presentation with oval trivets and cast iron plates with each filet. Tender and cooked to perfection with a side of béarnaise sauce which was some of the best I have ever had. So so good! You also received as a side dish potatoes au gratin. Very good! We also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts for the table. For desserts Jessica recommended the “warm chocolate toffee Bundt cake”. It was so delicious. Could have eaten two! We also had the “lemon meringue parfait”. Light and tasty. We rounded out the meal with Peruvian Dark Roast Coffee. Outstanding.

The restaurant is cozy and well decorated. Take the opportunity and look up at the beautiful ceilings that permeate throughout the restaurant. In addition, if you are seated next to a window look across the street at the “Angel” painting. So interesting.

Overall, the meal and service were just outstanding. Yeah it is on the expensive side (but we had drinks, apps and dessert) but I will go back. It really was perfection and worth...

I met a friend here for dinner and drinks and I love this restaurant. It’s crazy I can’t believe that I’ve never been to this restaurant before. I love how Frederick has so many gems to choose from for great food. If you’ve never been to The Tasting Room it’s perfect for date night, girls night out (which is what I did), or for cool place to chill and relax at the bar solo.

Let me begin by saying that our waitress, Jessica, was so helpful and knowledgeable of the menu to make suggestions on food and drink options. She was so polite and welcoming, and I immediately I felt like this restaurant was on point with the service. The cocktails were amazing. I had the Blueberry Lemonade & Summer Sangria, and my friend had a Aperol Spritz with Gin. We also had wine with our entree’s Our food was delicious! We started with the crab dip, and it was good. I ordered the NY Strip and it was so good, but my only issue is that I ordered it to be cooked medium. The first one was overcooked, and Jessica and the Manager offered for it to be sent back and replaced with a new one. I have to give it to them because, they were so nice about it and quickly brought out a new one. The second was cooked the way I liked it, but because they put it on a “hot plate” it continued to cook. So by the time I got to the end of the steak it was well done, and I lost interest in finishing it. Even though I really wanted to finish it and the steak was such a great cut, seasoned to perfection, and delicious otherwise. The side dishes were really good as well. Finally, I usually don’t have any room for dessert, but because the food was the perfect portions and not “heavy,” I was able to have dessert. So, my friend and split the Creme Brûlée. OMGOODNESS! So good! The strawberry compote made it even better for me! I loved it! It was perfect! If you’re thinking about checking out The Tasting Room, I definitely recommend it and I will...

First of all the food was really good, this review is solely based on customer service.

We came in with a 12 top last night. We had a reservation, we arrived on time, and the table was ready for us. Our waiter seemed a little Irritated to be serving us from the onset. When the entrees arrived my fiancé was in the restroom and our waiter sat down a plate of scallops in front of her seat. My fiancé does not enjoy any type of seafood so I said that I think he had placed them in the wrong spot, someone else must have ordered scallops. He definitely heard me but chose to ignore me. I told him again that he misplaced the scallops and he cut me off mid sentence and forcefully told me she ordered the scallops. Then insued a childish, back and forth argument about whether she did or didn’t order scallops and I told him that she would never order seafood because she does not enjoy the taste. The waiter told me I was wrong and he would have to check with my fiancé when she got back from the restrooms.

So she comes back a minute later and the waiter rudely shoves a menu in her face and asks her what she ordered. Keep in mind she has no idea we’ve just been arguing about scallops (yes, it was as ridiculous as it sounds) so she is taken aback by his aggressiveness. Of course, she tells him she didn’t order scallops and they end up bringing out her actual order. He does not apologize, he just looks further annoyed. Not cool when he’s the one who took down the wrong order.

To be fair he may have been having a bad day, I hope that is not his typical attitude. Plus, the scallops did look pretty good.

All in all, the food was good and the server was the rudest I’ve ever had. For a fraction of the price you could be treated better at...

Overrated and not worth it for the price point Their appetizer with octopus was a wow for sure - best octopus I’ve ever had. The mussels were pretty good. Eggplant appetizer was pretty good. But then it started to go downhill It was very cold inside which made the experience overall uncomfortable. Granted it’s an all glass building and 20 degrees out but they should still be heating everything to a comfortable temperature And then the entrees came and they were just ok. The ribeye was undersalted and almost watery. The flat iron came out overcooked - we ordered medium and it was medium well at best, borderline well done and very tough The duck was ok in my opinion but others liked it. The gnocchi was not that good- it was like they cooked a potato instead of using it as an ingredient in a pasta, and the sauce was not memorable At least the service was great and attentive. We told the waiter about the overcooked flat iron and the chef came out and apologized and remade it. In the remake it was pretty good and better than the ribeye Not my favorite steak ever but the best entree on the table maybe - 7/10 or so Everything felt undersalted Not sure why this place is rated so high. I guess it’s one of the few if not the only intimate restaurant for dates. I can understand that but personally for the money I would travel elsewhere with a date or any other occasion. And if you’re not coming for a date I don’t know why you would pick here Not worth it
