My husband and I had a very unfortunate experience at this restore trying to return a dryer that we purchased a week ago, that did not work. My husband had to load and drive the dyer 1-hour each way. When he brought it back to the store today, he was told that he did not have the right receipt. He explained that it was the only receipt that we were given - and that it showed every detail of our purchase on it. Instead of trying to help, he was told "no" - at which point he drove it around back to drop it off (watch out, they might have tried to restock it!). The man in the back was surprised by the store's refusal to take it back. He looked at the receipt and explained that it must be a mistake, that they take these receipts all the time. He asked my husband to meet him around front to work it out. When he got there, the man quickly dismissed my husband, with our receipt in his hand, threw his hands in the air and asked my husband to leave the store!
At that point I called the store manager, Cynthia Miller. She told me multiple stores in various formats, all leading to the same answer - they would not "be able" to return the dryer without a different receipt. Even after I explained that we never received such a piece of paper, and that my husband drove an hour to return it, that he would have to "come back" and she would see what she could do. This was after he was asked to leave the store! She refused to help me work it out over the phone, and said she could not do anything unless he came back to the store again. When I told her that his receipt was not given back to him, she denied it. I challenged her on that as well, at which point it was magically found "left on the counter by your husband." At that point she admitted that all she had to do was re-generate the receipt, since you know, our names are already in their database. But that she would not do it for me, and my husband would have to come all the way back.
I guess we will have to find a different nonprofit to support....
Read moreI love to thrift. I was shocked at prices. I know you have over head, but you are getting everything free!! I do love the selection and your staff are very nice and kind. The guys who load have always been great! They puzzle piece things to fit very nicely If you want to find a bargain here You can wait and check to see if it’s marked down. Sometimes they have great sales I found an antique poster bed. It was more than I wanted to pay so I checked as time went by and it got down to $25 Great deal for antique with wooden wheels. I really do hate it when you go thrifting and they sell stuff for more than new. Hopefully they will get someone who knows better. Maybe check other sources before you put a price on things!!! Hoping to get s pick up but I’m concerned after reading peoples experiences. I had an Estate sell and still have so many beautiful items. I’m a designer. So don’t have junk. If I can’t consign it and don’t want to move it …hopefully they’ll do a pickup Quickly because my stuff is valuable . Looks like the manager is mostly commenting on positive reveiws You can’t do business if you don’t address problems in a kind manner without being defensive. Most generally an attitude of Goodwill Brings in more business Do you have a place to see what your doing in the community? It’s important to those of us who support causes to know where Our resources are going, I’m excited to come again. It’s very interesting there. A lot to see Hope you have figured out pricing etc. It’s been a while since I’ve been and I hope to have a great experience. ThankYou Oh and are they doing anything for homeless vets? Maybe there’s grants for that. Breaks my heart to see those who fight for us out on the street. We shouldn’t have a war machine that uses people and spits them out. Please let me know if they are helping...
Read moreI have been visiting the ReStore since they opened and felt compelled to leave a review after my last few recent stops in. While I have found a great deal at the ReStore a time or two, I will no longer be stopping in until management realizes that thrift stores can not and should not demand retail prices for the items donated to them FOR FREE.
The prices here are laughable and have infact given me some good chuckles while shopping. $75 for a Walmart desk that was originally $80, but this one is wobbly and all scratched up! What a deal! $10 for a smashed up picture frame when I can buy a new one at the craft store for the same price? Yes please. Would I love to dig through a box of used, scratched, and dirty miscellaneous cabinet knobs to try and find matching ones to save 25¢ and a trip to Home Depot? Of course! These are the thoughts I imagine the managers of this store have while pricing the merchandise.
As someone who was raised thrifting to save money and be frugal the ReStore has completely lost the plot. Taking someone else's dirty item home isn't worth it if there is no savings. Instead of buying items I see and want at the ReStore they sit on the shelf unsold and overpriced, and now they have lost me as a...
