Do NOT get a credit card from this store EVER!!
Last Sept. I opened a store credit card for a 20% savings, something I never do, but the clerk assured me there was no monthly fee & that if I paid my balance off I would not have any more charges on my card. So I did just that as soon as I got my first bill & then for the most part ignored any more correspondence from Macy's...my mistake. Forward a couple months & somehow a bill gets opened & there's a charge, I'm thinking this is weird I payed my bill off, but then I'm thinking maybe I didn't so I pay the charge in full. Again I think the situation is taken care of, my second mistake. Flash forward another couple of months & there is another freaking charge. This time I'm pissed enough to call, of course they outsource their customer service call center so the person I speak to barely speaks English & is rude as hell!!! She tells me all these charges stem from the fact that my very first payment from my one & only charge was 1 day past the due date & so I've been charged interest all this time!?!?! So I again pay off the card & according to the rude customer service rep my card has a zero balance. I tell her to cancel my card & I don't ever want to deal with Macy's again. So guess what...I get another bill this month, after it was supposedly all paid off for another $2 interest fee!?!?! Now I am livid!!! I call the company, talk to another representative who spoke slightly better English, but much more polite. I tell her now I want all the money that this company has been scamming from me reimbursed & I want this card CANCELED! She does it without even hesitating or having to call her supervisor....$48 worth of "interest fees"???? If she has the power to do this it leads me to believe that this is common practice with Macy's...they know that only very rarely is a customer going to called pissed so they just give them their money back & figure one lost customer (or one happy because Macy's is so accommodating) is worth the thousands of customers who don't pay attention & the money they are raking in with this slightly dishonest service!!! So buyer beware if you ever open a card with this company, stay on top of your bills & triple check all your charges!! Oh yeah, & don't believe the clerks when they tell you about the card because they are either lying or...
Read moreDON'T WAIST YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE! I PURCHASED A WATCH AND WENT THROUGH HELL FROM THE START. The lady who helped me was nice but had little to no experience in selling watches. She kept having to receive assistance from others. Unfortunately for her the other employees kept leaving her alone. It would help a lot better if a senior employee would stay with a novice employee until they knew how to do their job without asking. This cost us to have to wait an extremely long time to be properly taken care of. I had specifically asked to have the watch delivered. At the end of the transaction I found out that she failed to set up the purchase to be delivered. She took the receipt back for another 10 minutes and just stood around between the register. Then came back and handed me my receipt, and claimed it was all taken care of. About a week later I called the jewlery department and had to explain everything, and asked where my watch was. After speaking with two people, I was told I needed to be transferred to the watch department. (As anyone knows, the watches are in the jewlery department!) As soon as I was supposed to be transferred, the line disconnected! I called back and asked to speak to the manager. Again, I explained the complete debacle. The manager said she'd find out about my watch and call me back. She later called my number and left a message, stating they had my watch and would be sending it out promptly, and I should get it in a few days. I would have picked it up in twenty minutes, had I spoken to her. When I finally received the watch it wasn't even set. I found out the timing seemed to work, but the second hand was not working. I took the watch back to the store and the lady who originally help me attempted to get the watch to work. The senior employee then began to attempt to fix the watch. They messed around for twenty minutes and the original sale's lady claimed she fixed it by pushing one button twice. When I arrived home it wasn't working again. The original lady was so happy with herself. I figured out she had only set the stop watch. Terrible customer service! No one there knows how to set the watches their selling! Even with the instruction manual!!! I'm returning the expensive watch tomorrow. WHAT A COMPLETE WAIST...
Read moreThe Store Manager deserves 10 stars ⭐️!!! The ladies that work in cosmetics are rude, incompetent, busy bodies, and coworkers should watch their backs! I don’t live in VA. I was visiting family. When I needed to purchase some Clinique. No one was at the counter. I see and hear them in a huddle discussing a coworker’s personal affairs for everyone to hear. I walk up and ask for help. I was told that no one was available to help me at the Clinique Counter due to the regular employee being off. WOW!! There was no one available to get the products that I needed? I walk away after 4 out of 4 employees didn’t speak and acted like I was a bother. I took their picture. One shouted, “She took our picture!” They proceeded to follow me. I walk up to another employee who said they was management and wanted to know what the problem was. I explained. She said that they was acting the fool because of high shrink. What does that have to do with me, a paying customer? I requested the store manager!!! She was there in less than a minute. I explained what had happened and showed her the picture. She told me that should never have happened. She had the supervisor to come and give us a hand with the product as she was also trained to sell Clinique. They was out of stock. I left with a travel size kit. While she was helping me, others were in line to report them. She promised a better shopping experience for everyone as she was new to the store and was bringing it to Macy’s high standard. I’m posting their...
