I was really looking forward to digging into some legit deep-dish pizza, but unfortunately, this order turned into more frustration than satisfaction.
Presentation: The larger pizza was a mess when I opened the box. The entire pie had shifted to one side, causing all the cheese, sauce, and toppings to slide off and pool against the edge of the crust. It looked like it had been dropped, tilted, or slammed during delivery. On top of that, it was unevenly bakedâwith large burnt spots that made it even less appetizing. Honestly, it didnât even resemble a whole pizza anymore.
Taste (or lack of): I canât speak much to the flavor of the larger oneâbecause I couldnât eat it. Between the messy collapse, the burnt areas, and the way everything was jumbled together, it just wasnât edible. The smaller pizza was slightly better in structure, but even that had its own issues with uneven cooking and charring.
Overall Experience: This was disappointing, plain and simple. Deep-dish should be rich, indulgent, and comforting. Instead, I ended up tossing out a good portion of the order. Not what I expected for something I was genuinely...
Read moreI am a big fan of Chicago style pizza. Uno was a go-to when they were around. I had big hopes for ymmas when we ordered two the other day. Firstly, theyâre huge! Two 14â pizzas were way more than four people could possibly eat. Iâm guessing but when carrying them to my car it felt like an easy 10-12 pounds of pizza. The amount of sauce and cheese was more than generous, and the veges and meat were also ample. There isnât much room to eat these onsite, so carry out is your best option. It does take a while to prepare them so allow that when ordering. My main gripe, and itâs a personal preference, is that they scatter about 1/2 cup of what had to be Romano cheese on top. I like funky cheeses, but for some reason the added cheese kinda screwed up the flavor profile for me. Again, just my tastes. I wish it would have been Parmesan so it wouldnât have been so funky. Very over the top. These are best eaten fresh. It does reheat ok but the crust is best the same day. Overall they were good, but pricey also. Start small and order up if itâs your first time. They are...
Read moreJeff has been a friend for years and when I heard he was going into PIzza - well I had to try it. Recommend that you order online and select a pick up time - these deep dish pies take longer to cook so plan ahead. The online ordering process was easy and I selected 5:30 PM on a Saturday. Arrived about 5:25 and downtown was packed but there were a few spots on a near by side street. Walked in and the server knew who I was and handed me my pie. The pies are not sliced and you need to keep them flat before eating. The pizza was traditional deep dish and delicious. Will...
