I am super disappointed in this spot. Last week I went in for a routine eye check up. I asked a lot of questions including prices. I also was asked if I wanted some imaging vs dilating that would cost me more money than what my insurance covered. I was then told they would waive the fees as the doctor had just had surgery and wasn’t able to do what my insurance covers. During my exam I had all my questions answered. I then went back to the front desk asked for the prices for a few glasses and even said I would possibly see about ordering items the following week. I wasn’t asked to pay anything giving me the okay to leave. I then received an email staying i had to pay $87.00. I asked what specifically for and sent a second email asking if I could have my medical information sent to me. Initially I was told I was not able to obtain my information until payment was received. I don’t believe withholding patient information for non payment is okay. It seems very unethical to me. Anyway, they did end up sending me some info after a few emails. They said that was apart of their office policy. I wasn’t able to find their office policy for this specific situation and when asked for an outline stating this I was ignored. The doctor and Daniela were great. Julia I believe is the office manager she wasn’t ever really able to answer my questions. I am just disappointed by this interaction. Anyway all this for $87.00. This was paid in full today, just super...
Read moreI called Summit Eye Center inquiring about having punctal plugs ( tear duct plug) put in to help with eye dryness. I have had these put in several times before with other eye doctors but they come out or dissolve after a while. When I inquired what the cost would be, explaining that I would be self pay and not having my insurance billed, I was told the cost would be “ somewhere between $60 and $1,000, depending on the patient.” When I asked if I could be told the cost before the plugs were actually inserted, the answer was “ no.” When I asked if I could be given a more specific ballpark estimate I was told, “ no, this is the way we do it.” When I asked for the name of the person telling me this information, since I had been transferred to her from the person that originally answered the phone, the response was, “ have a good day,” and then she hung up. Clearly the office staff needs better training in both information and politeness and Summit Eye Center also needs to be more honest and up front with their billing practice. “You’ll find out how much you owe after we perform the service,” isn’t a reputable way to...
Read moreThis has been my favorite Optometrist since 2013 with Dr. Barry. I was so sad to hear he had retire he was an awesome Doctor. But this time I came on October of 2019 everything looked nice they have remodeled when I first walked in I was greeted with two professional ladies that were at the front desk Ms. Galarza and Ms. Murillo were very friendly always had a smile on face. I met the new ophthalmologist, Dr. Cutler was very kind and helpful he took his time on explaining how my vision and cornea is doing. and some tips on how to take care of my vision while driving at night when vehicles pass with some really bright LED headlights. Also, Dr. Cutler was very kind of giving me a Rebate for my contact lenses with two boxes of Bio True contact solution. This Optometrist is still my favorite, even though we don't have Dr. Barry but I do recommend friends and family coming here! Just because Dr. Cutler and Staff were just amazing with great atmosphere and...
